I have seen them in dreams

They were in black upright sarcophaguses - there was a group of four - they appear like the monolith in 2001 but with rounded edges and thicker - they had a hammerhead-like head and two black squid tentacles on either side

They had a bioluminescent blue green glow along the sides that concentrated and spread out at the ends of their tentacles - this glow also was along the top of the head similar to eye-like shapes but appearing more like headlights on a car

They were very much a mix of organic and synthetic technological beings

In the dream they were running an endless victorian party for humans in a decadent manor - keeping humans stuck in a loop from room to room - in a haze of forgetfulness to not realize how long they had been at the party

These entities were able to time travel - they knew the humans were about to enter the room before they arrived, so they levitated out of their black containers and floated into the next room

I was only able to catch a glimpse of them by being lucid and sneaking though a secret passage used by the janitors and housekeeping staff - oddly enough these janitor hallways and rooms appeared modern / not victorian - I was able to enter the room while no one was there

The doors closed behind them when they went into the next chamber - and the victorian party guests arrived and continued in their stupor indefinitely

It was a hell of a dream complete with song and dance numbers with a burlesque vibe

Some human spy spotted me who was not part of the party - he had bleach blonde hair and a gray suit - he looked shocked to see me and quickly high tailed it - I got the sense this was some sort of human agent for them - I have no idea where he went but I got the strong feeling he went to report having seen me seeing them
