Someone Help Me Identify This Un-Labeled Parka and Tell me What the Side Release Staps Are For...

The sleeves snap together. Obviously. It can be used as a straight jacket apparently.

The back zipper is to breathe if you warm up etc. The inside Velcro is to hold down or attach the hood or secure some missing article. Maybe search though it is unlabeled, parkas in general might show some of the same features.

What back zipper?

That's somekind of nylon strappy thing with a fastener on the end and another fasterner on the back of the hood.

They click together.

Like the sleeves.

The velco is way down the inside of the back.

It's not for a hood.

The thing already has an attached hood.

Oh. Liberals. Well, I still think my first assumption of a straight jacket is likely. The Velcro on inside could be to keep the diaper from slipping.

And additionally, I noticed many items looking unlabeled
were part of sets of objects from compiled caches
example from a emerg. kit in a car. etc.

I think this is one of those compact/backpack parka things that are supposed to roll up super tight and you use those straps with clips to keep it in a tight roll for storing on or in your backpack. Can double as a pillow.

How you do that is another question.

I'll be gentle

The straps/buckles are for packing the coat up for minimal storage in your pack. The velcro is for attaching a thermal pad to yhe inside for additional insulation to protect your back.

Its so you can daisy chain with friends wearing the same jacket.....

It's the inside liner for a parka shell. The attachments connect to the outer shell. I have a few of them like that, but the are usually snaps.

Strap down to keep wind out on a motorcycle ride?

Pack parka?

Rolls up and secures with the straps into a compacted package.
