I want to think this stuff is just psychological warfare, but I get the feeling that it is very real psychological warfare, primarily against the Chinese people. like a humiliation ritual. it definitely has a  vibe Yep this kind of public shaming was once used for criminals. Now everybody who doesn't obey the absurd rules of the sociopaths in charge is treated like a criminal.
