If you live in a region of the US where you get to experience all 4 seasons equally. It gets so much hate for being a depressing month, but it's such a beautifully melancholic gray month counterbalanced with some pops of cheeriness (via early Christmas music on the radio, Christmas decorations in malls, etc). I just love going for walks alone when it starts getting dark and taking in that beautiful crisp November air, it soothes the soul. It's such a life-affirming month for me. November over here in Suomi-Finland is suicide month but I guess you're kind of right, OP. Immense as it is, The Greyness also has its special kind of harsh beauty. Personally, I love the fact that the first real snow fell a couple of days ago. And temperature finally dropped steadily below freezing. Immediately a bit easier to live, imho.
