Serious question about inflation and deflation
So with this rate of inflation, going to the grocery store and seeing something that was 4.42 and one week later it is 5.68, etc.. and I refuse to buy it at that price, than If everyone refuses to buy it, then it will either cause deflation or theft ? Since a business would have to close or reduce costs just to sell a product.

It seems like with this rate of inflation, we are actually on the verge of societal collapse, and mass theft.

If we all refuse to buy simple things that keep going up like whip cream, and other non essential items, will that eventually cause deflation (at least in the short term)
since stores have to get rid of that product before it expires ???

people complain but still keep buying that stuff.

Re: Serious question about inflation and deflation
you're only talking about one item, plus if you don't spend the 5.58, you and everyone else still has the 5.58 to spend on something else, or save. Look at the unseen, not just the seen.
