Re: Question for the anti-bank, anti-lending and anti-crypto crowd (who believe all 3)
So far the responses are:

- only rich people should be able to buy houses and pass that down generationally

- some loser is jealous of _| e w s

That’s really all GLP can come up with? This is one of the biggest complaints you all have! It’s always the bankers this and usury that… and now no one can make a coherent argument?

I’m shocked.

We don't want manipulation of the markets, houses do not worth that prices, money should not be printed out of nothing by mafious families and fuck you if I will ever enskave myself to pay you interest on fantasy money and tokens.

No I want intelligent answers… unlike yours

You’re just saying only people with hundreds of thousands of dollars should own homes.

That’s means wealthy people would very quickly own all the homes as they would be the only people able to buy them.

You haven’t really thought this through. You’re just mindlessly parroting grievances commonly made by uneducated people that have no concept of finance.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 42717143

I never said only?

If you want to take out a big fat loan, to prove we need lenders, then go for it. No one's stopping you.

But I'm confused why you keep saying wealthy people are going to buy all of the homes if they aren't quickly lent out to middle and middle upper class.

There's plenty of homes out there with for sale signs. "Rich people" aren't buying all of them. A lot are sitting for weeks now. Tell me where your logic is in there? I'm not picking it up.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 77670353

Well you’re not picking it up because you aren’t very bright

Without lending, only very wealthy people can afford to buy homes.

What about that don’t you understand? Lol
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 42717143

Savings accounts aren't a thing anymore?

Reducing monthly expenses to increase monthly savings?

Saving enough for a home and not just a down payment?
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 77670353

You clearly are financially illiterate

Sweetie, do you know what % interest you get for savings? Do you know what % inflation is?

It’s not “savings” sweetheart

And again, you are saying only people with a lot of liquidity should be home owners. That means a guy just getting buy will never be able to pass anything down to his kids.

Re: Question for the anti-bank, anti-lending and anti-crypto crowd (who believe all 3)
Say you want to buy a house. Should only people that have enough cash be able to buy?

If you don’t like fiat or crypto, do you think everyone should have hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of PM in their homes? I go to buy a house and I need $500,000 worth of gold and I am just going to hand it all to the seller? Who is then going to just trust it’s all real gold?

If you don’t believe in lending and interest, are you a commie that wants other people’s money for nothing? Why should a random stranger give you their money to use for free?

Seems like there is a segment of people who are anti anything financial (because they are financially illiterate) yet don’t have any realistic solutions on how things would work otherwise.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 42717143

The reason houses can’t be bought with cash after a couple years of saving is because the banks drive the cost up into the stratosphere.

This is banking 101. The creation of the 30 year treasury bond was the death knell for affordable housing.

Do some research, you will likely be anti-bank once you do.

I think a lot of the problems would be alleviated if we didn't allow homes to be speculative assets.

Renting/Landlords shouldn't exist.

Homes should be HOMES. Shelter.

But I'm just a dreamer...
 Quoting: BLACK GHOST

So you should just get a house for free?

If you can’t afford to buy a house… then what? You just get to use someone else’s house for free?

Are you sure you have developed logical mature ideas or are you possibly just a child that wants his toy now?

I'm not talking about interest rates associated with a savings account. Has nothing to do with what we are talking about.

Save you money for 10 years. Buy a home.

Save your money for 3 years, have a down-payment, then pay for home for 30 years plus interest.

If that's what you're into, because your an instant gratification type, then do it.

Your last sentence really summed everything up. You're fighting for the underdog. The guy "just getting by" who wants to leave something for his family.

Why should someone just getting by who does the bare minimum, have anything to leave behind?

If a person isn't making enough to own a home, maybe they should look at what education they really have.

Yet somehow that is the banks fault?

Now I will say I do think we should limit institutions and foreign entities from buying real estate in the US.

For instance in europe starting with Gen X it was impossible to get a loan even with two people signing it with both of them a permanent working contract. The only way was to give as collateral another property. In case parents couldn't or wouldn't want to offer their own property as collateral...no loan...and you ended to rent forever.

Not a total fail. While what he said isn’t 100% true, it’s much more true and untrue. The vast majority of people do need loans to buy homes.

Here’s something crazy for you guys that don’t ever get exposure to financially literate people. Check this out- rich people love loans. They love debt. They use it to their advantage.

Now personally, I am less into debt. I didn’t grow up wealthy so I still have some of those ideals. However I do see the benefits of being able to buy large items with small down payments, refinances, etc.

What I did say is that loans allow for people other than wealthy people to buy homes.

I don’t believe I ever said I was broke…. Because I’m not. However, I am not just thinking about myself.

The reason houses can’t be bought with cash after a couple years of saving is because the banks drive the cost up into the stratosphere.

This is banking 101. The creation of the 30 year treasury bond was the death knell for affordable housing.

Do some research, you will likely be anti-bank once you do.

lol banks don’t drive up housing costs. Supply and demand does

GLP is full of pure idiocy
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 42717143

But if you put zero or low interest on savings then people use houses as pure investment. There are endless empty houses and appartments because of this.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 80857626

Yes people bought houses because they wanted to make money on it. Wow, what a concept!

Yet somehow that is the banks fault?

Now I will say I do think we should limit institutions and foreign entities from buying real estate in the US.

I made it: eat shit and die

You are just justifying slavery.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 80857626

Who is forced to take out a loan?

You can buy cash or rent

A loan is an option

Slaves don’t have options

You just really want to be a victim. That’s in style now.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 42717143

For instance in europe starting with Gen X it was impossible to get a loan even with two people signing it with both of them a permanent working contract. The only way was to give as collateral another property. In case parents couldn't or wouldn't want to offer their own property as collateral...no loan...and you ended to rent forever.

Bullshit. I have a friend buying a house in Germany now and you are wrong.

 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 77670353

How much can the average person save in ten years? Especially when paying rent. In most areas of the country, ten years would get you a down payment.

Stop being an obtuse asshole. You damn well know a loan is a necessity for anyone wanting to own their own home.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 84803862

/fail
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 77670353

Not a total fail. While what he said isn’t 100% true, it’s much more true and untrue. The vast majority of people do need loans to buy homes.

Here’s something crazy for you guys that don’t ever get exposure to financially literate people. Check this out- rich people love loans. They love debt. They use it to their advantage.

Now personally, I am less into debt. I didn’t grow up wealthy so I still have some of those ideals. However I do see the benefits of being able to buy large items with small down payments, refinances, etc.

 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 42717143

I think a lot of the problems would be alleviated if we didn't allow homes to be speculative assets.

Renting/Landlords shouldn't exist.

Homes should be HOMES. Shelter.

But I'm just a dreamer...

You naive little retard.

Banks and insurance have designed the markets so you can't pay cash for a house or car. So then you have to pay a vig to schloomos cousin because the house or car is bank owned.

Go back to Israel you fucking jeww rat.

So you either live in a shithole part of the county or you inherited wealth. Here in reality, most of us little people need a 30 year loan just to get in a home.

I'm as frugal as they come and make above the average salary but I still needed a 15 year loan.

Now seriously, stop replying and making a stupid asshole out of yourself.
