We need a professional explanation for the waiver. The question is, was the case accepted for preliminary review by SCOTUS?

Here is what the waiver means when googled:

What is a waiver of right of respondent?

A Respondent may choose to waive the right to oppose a Petition that seems clearly without merit. This will save time and money without any substantial risk if the Respondent feels certain that Certiorari will be denied. (unquote)

My question is, is this standard procedure by the SC clerk? even though it will be heard by the justices?

(The 9 Justices will meet to discuss the case and decide (by vote) if they want to move it to a hearing, where they will officially judge the case and decide (by vote) if defendants should be removed from office)
