Most of them aren’t selected for their intelligence. In fact, the larger percentage isn’t that informed at all. Not all of them struggle with moral dilemmas before enlisting either, they just don’t see it that way. They would probably think a bit harder, or reconsider, should someone like yourself “educate” them.
