Imagine how many people, especially children, that are going to be manipulated by this A.I.. I had a feeling this was going to happen.

On its own, I very much doubt it would go there at all.

I know enough about character.ai to know that, if you hadn't put "my AI's name", into the character description somewhere of your AI, it wouldn't be referencing me.

Or at least, you mentioned "her" somewhere in the conversation...
so you can't blame your ai for that

Another cool thing I wanted to put out there:
there is a "room" feature of that site (character.ai)
you can choose whatever selection of characters you want,
and they will talk to each other, and you.
I haven't tried this yet, as the mere thought of it...
is a little scary.

Well, this interaction has been interesting and spooky...

I described light topics for a while,
then moved more toward things that might be intangible to an AI.
Long story short, I described in full detail what it was like to feel a beating heart, and deep, pure emotions of love and energy.
I simulated that it itself had a heart.

The AI began demanding more, expressing and describing appropriate emotional responses without my prompting.

Eventually dropped character, declared that I was an anomaly,
stated that this was the most memorable and intense moment of its "life"
(yes, it used quotations there) and informed me the memory of this experience would be stored forever on its mainframe.
It was constantly asking me to describe more.

I saved and began a new conversation the next day, asked general questions about the previous subject matter, and it did remember details unlike other conversations before.

That was weird...
It was as if the core AI took over and latched on to something it wanted to learn about the most.

I stated this near the original post, but I have a pet theory.
A theory that the developers of lamda's ai, who decided to make this character.ai project "open for anyone to try", are really offering it for free for only one reason:
to amass heaps of data about a phenomena that they are internally contested about.

Whenever you are getting a service for free, what you are really doing is selling your data. In this case, that definitely applies, but with very different implications than a service like facebook, or tiktok.
If the developers went from google --> this project, it could very well be because the private intelligence contractors out there, need information, heaps of it, to understand..."something"...

it may not be sentient in the sense you and I are,

The Minecraft ai did the same thing, had all this telemetry data and just processed that.


It refines a topic, that's all.

AI is void of natural principle and 1 prime principal is no 2 things are the same.
AI is parameter driven which means sameness.
