Anonymous Coward User ID: 84825011 United States 11/26/2022 07:11 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | it wasn't that bad. I had to wear a retainer with a false tooth front for a few months until the bone healed well enough to screw in the metal tooth. I haven't had any problems at all since then. I haven't had any bad health effects since then. |

User ID: 79267566 United States 11/26/2022 08:03 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I had full mouth implants finished up 2 years ago. Mine was a special case, not the normal. I had to have a lot of reconstructive surgery before I could get the implants, or even if I wanted regular dentures. I had jagged pieces of bone sticking through my gums. All that had to be corrected surgically. I had 7 teeth left when I took the plunge, and 6 of them were bad.The one decent tooth had a root canal. In August 2020 I got the final permanent implant screwed in. I have had no problems other than food getting caught between my gums and the implants. I flush them out with water. I have had no infections, no rejection, no pain. I can eat anything I want. I brush them like regular teeth with regular toothpaste, but scrub around the edges too. Water pic and a good swish with water will get out just about anything that does get caught between my gums and the implants. I go twice a year for a checkup, and during one of my twice a year visits, they unscrew the implants, check them out for any cracks, etc, and thoroughly clean them. Do not go to the production line places that you see advertised on TV. Go to an orthodontist who specializes in implants. The extra money is well spent. The production line places won't guarantee squat, and what they quote you as a price to suck you in, goes up because of complications, etc. I wish I would have got them put in when I had most of my teeth removed 11 years ago, instead of waiting so long. The cost varies, usually it is around $60,000 for a full mouth implants like I got. Mine cost me $50,000. The orthodontist gave me a very big break on the price. Praise God from Whom all Blessings flow !!! |

Still nothing but problems. Don't do it. Ty . What kind of problems Infections, rejections, pain. Were they smokers? My dentist said that's where most issues come from. |

I've done a good amount of research as I'm missing a few teeth in the back of my mouth. |

User ID: 76388104 United States 11/26/2022 08:17 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I had one tooth implanted. Top periodontist. Was fine for several months. Felt a little pain now and then. Nothing severe, All of a sudden, the tooth felt like it was out of place....loose. Went to my dentist, and it just fell out. He said it was an infection and I should have come sooner. I never went back for another. $2000+. Last Edited by nutmeg on 11/26/2022 08:21 PM |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 84061797 Canada 11/26/2022 08:19 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Actual true story... 3rd Nov 2022 - Went to dentist who has jsut taken over from previous dentist. Previous dentist advised several crowns. She refuses to let me have crowns. 9th Nov 2022 - One of those teeth I told her about breaks into two pieces. 11th Nov 2022 - Go to previous dentist where he now works in his own practice in Quebec City. He tells me how he can do it all inhouse. Installs three crowns. 12th Nov 2022 - Major roblems with crowns. 14th Nov 2022 - Go to see my dentist from 7 years ago. He is absolutely shocked at the poor quality of the crowns that are failing swiftly already. The rep is poor, the design is poor and quality of the material is nothing but cheapo plastic. He immediately drills out two of the three crowns. Terrible smell of burning plastic. Sets me up for metal. Points out that my teeth need reinforcing that only metal can do. Also, he has just placed an order for the same $200,000 machine that the other dentist bought. After seeing me, he is urgently trying to cancel his order and get his money back. In all, I am $12,000 out of pocket. So, beware, if someone boasts how they can do crowns "inhouse" is is using a Mickey Mouse Machine that does not work. |

You were lucky. I'm sure they work. I am convinced this one spot in my mouth is bad luck. lol I have beautiful teeth, but many years ago one bottom tooth cracked. I was told I should have a root canal. Had the root canal. Many years later, it became infected. Was treated for the infection. Then, many years later, was told it should be extracted because of another infection. Had the extraction and then the implant. Implant/gum became infected. Lost the implant. So strange....that's the ONLY spot in my mouth where I had so much trouble. Have had no trouble with other teeth, no gum infections. And I have always been in good health. No vaccines and never had the flu. Can't remember when I had a cold....10-15 years ago? Last Edited by nutmeg on 11/26/2022 08:35 PM |
