Stick your feet out from under cover and the rest of you feels warmer. In my experience, and I have winter camped. For extended periods (6-7 weeks at a time).

Weighted blanket.

Like a full body bear hug.
I've been married so long, I don't even look both ways when I cross the street.

Not that warm tbh. Mainly to boost sleeping bag. Where as a warmer pair might be too warm for sleeping bag.

Dont have zipped bags. So I bought a summer bag because of no zip. Realised Id need to store synthetics for the apocolypse and somehow maybe buy down versions.

Might even buy a summer liner.

The down blanket made me buy an omm summer + bag because I doubt Id rely on blanket for survival gear. Although warmer than bag. You cant tuck in. Its best as a winter vest.

Thought it wasnt even good as a bag filler but with the OMM bag bought. The Omm kind of holds blanket better. Sure you are still dealing with gap issues but should be ok through september but will find out testing. Whilst also using the blanket as a vest locked under a windshirt.

Would be worth keeping if it can boost a bag without cold spots but also worth keeping just for a winter vest ( this is where its best )

Otherwise its about £500 just to buy a vest or jacket version to save 60 grams.

The down blanket were part of bugout kit. It boosts jacket better than any other gear but doubt its best to carry. So had to buy an omm raid.

For hiking and even though I dont want to use synths because of compression.

The blanket might be ok as a jacket plus with the omm raid till October.

Cool hiking system. If the blanket stays in place but you will then have to switch bags obviously.

Would be even better with a 200g down bag rather than a 350g synth bag and the cheaper option to buying a wafer suit.

Here's the best thing to get for small spaces. You can heat them with twigs.

All of this 'bundling up and get better bedding' is fine, but why not address the issues using one of these?

Another option is to buy a roll mat system and sleep on floor. If theres no heating.

7491t9 Actually you are right. Probably they are great inside the sleeping back. But for regular household use you have to have thick insulating soles. I have a pair of mules i bought just recently that work pretty well, but I'd prefer to just use them for half-awake trips to the loo, without the hassle of putting boots on.
I have what I hope will be a suitable pair on order from Amazon. I'd have bought something like this from a regular shop years ago, but I never see them. I think that they would be better for when I'm up and about the house and garden.

Cool. Thanks. Hope your order is ok.

I only get cold becauss im lazy. Like I sit on corners of chairs etc and people ask how I could be comfortable.

The booties were on the cusp of being a waste of money. £85 were super expensive but they are now £200.

Two pairs of thin liner socks seemed as warm and actually lighter than wafer down boots.

So it wouldnt have made sense to carry a liner sock ( hiking ) plus the wafer boots.

But realised they are better in the wind and better without a liner sock. Less feel of wearing socks.

I think I were bemused before realising they could be ok as described ( although only on cusp of better compared to socks )

Because maybe my left foot gets colder than my right foot.

It could be the socks are better though.

I go old fashioned. A goose down feather bed on top of the mattress. Flannel sheets, goose down comforter, flannel blanket, quilt. It's like sleeping in a marshmallow. Then a flannel nightgown with leggings and socks if it's really cold.

I love a cold bedroom. My wife uses her electric blanket but for some reason electric blankets have always made my legs hurt?

lots can be said for my grandmothers 75+ year old home made quilt with wool. A wool blanket is all I have ever needed.

In an emergency most dogs will be happy to jump under the covers at the foot of the bed to help keep your feet warm.

Baselayer. Not sure if there are different types.

Baselayer vs thermal.

Anyway. A cheap polyester baselayer. So you dont mind washing with normal detergent.

Pyjama bottoms and socks.

Some sort of micro fleece or jumper.

Dressing gown. Hat.

You might have a thin summer dressing gown and a winter dressing gown.

Where you can use the thin dressing gown for moving but also the thick gown for sitting about.

An electric heating pad is your Friend.
Placed at your feet keeps your toes nice & Toestee.
Inside a warm sleeping bag is a bonus.

When I lived under those conditions I'd crawl into bed fully dressed but no boots, and as I warmed up I'd start taking off the outer layers til it's comfortable.
It can take a while.
A down comforter big enough to completely cover up with also helps a lot.

Re: Making a Warm Winter Bed.in an Unheated Bedroom.
Lots of blankets and/or pets, or a tent - if you have a big house you can pitch a tent inside and your body heat will stay more inside the tent. Sleeping bags, thick socks, sleep in pajamas or sweatpants and sweaters. Another person of course, body heat.

You can see bums in NYC and so on braving the cold with the right insulation all should be OK. If you do not have heating system get a fireplace or pot belly stove.
