What's sad is that he'll probably be released to commit more crimes. They won't hold a 10 year old very long. I doubt if he can be rehabilitated.

A 10 year old can for sure be rehabilitated . Didn't even hit puberty yet . He can be put on the right path if some other human out there has the time and patience to do it .

A 10-year-old boy is in a Wisconsin juvenile detention center on allegations he shot and killed his mother because he wanted a virtual reality headset.

The boy admitted to police that he retrieved the gun from his mother's bedroom and shot her on accident on Nov. 21, according to the criminal complaint. His 26-year-old sister called the police and the next day more family members would alert officers that he didn't appear to show remorse and claimed to have shot her on purpose. They also discovered that the next day he used his mother's Amazon account to buy an Oculus Virtual Reality headset.

His family also reported to police that he has a violent past that included hurting the family's pet dog and setting the furniture on fire with a balloon he filled with explosive liquid. While the gun he eventually retrieved was in a lockbox, family members confirmed that the boy had the keys to it.

This doesn’t make him a psycho, I don’t know the whole story but if he’s already been exposed to violent video games and scenarios from a young age then he may have become desensitised to it, to many ppl play violent games with no consequence and a reset button, perhaps he believed she would regenerate and had a blurred view between reality and virtual reality? I know my 10yr old wouldn’t even know what an oculus rift is. Certain games are 18+ for a reason, the mind hasn’t developed enough to handle that type of thing and VR should not be played by children.
