No movies in Netflix are in English anymore

In the context of this thread, for a language you don't understand. But yea, subtitles can be good if I want to watch a movie in silence, and sometimes I just like having them too. But that's just me.

How expensive can it be to add an English soundrack, it doesn't have to be perfect. Hire a few actors, or get the original actors to get off their asses and do the English translation. The producers say it's too expensive and interferes with the directors intent.

I say the movie theme will still come through if its any good, but without translation we will neither watch it, nor discuss the movie.

Tired of subtitles. In this age of media, it's inexcusable; we have endless choices now.

I watched that Troll movie last night, it's Norwegian but I found a copy with English overdubs.

Not the greatest movie but the overdub was available.

The last few shows I've watched on Netflix ( Dark, Alice in Borderland, Squid Game, All of Us Are Dead ) have had English dubs. It's definitely a nice option if it's available.

Subtitties are great for learning a foreign language.

I've noticed this, I think it's deliberate to send a message to the Anglosphere that "you ain't top dog any more".

I think it's more like Netflix lost a SH@T TON of subscribers and they probably don't have a budget for translators and voice actors any longer. Just my $.02

Same. Sometimes there are things in the subtitles you don't pick up on when watching a movie if they are off.

Stop harassing people. France and other countries outlawed foreign language movies for a reason - and look what has happened to France - it is now over-run by people who hate the French and only learn enough French to rob the French on the metro.

You are not an intellectual because you once watched a foreign language movie and haranguing people because they want their monthly subscription service based in their country to be in their countries language is not clever or erudite.

subtitles are not really an issue. Issue is that most of the movies on there now are dubbed english over a foreign language and the dubbing totally sucks !!

The intellectuals who ran France decided to ban all non-French language (or dubbed) materials for children and relegate foreign language films to special theatres and showings.

It didnt stop them from being over-run by hate-filled outsiders, yet they did it. It is normal for people to desire the media they pay for to be in the language they speak.

Name one that you can subscribe to that has the amount of content Netflix does. I'm no subscriber. I don't even own a TV.
