FINALLY, ANOTHER RCT ON MASK WEARING
The Annals of Internal Medicine just published a randomized controlled trial comparing the ability of medical masks to prevent COVID infection to fit-tested N95s.

Importantly, this trial was conducted on healthcare workers who would be most likely to use masks appropriately.

To determine whether medical masks are noninferior to N95 respirators to prevent COVID-19 in health care workers providing routine care.

That trial design was also important as it was meant to determine whether or not N95 respirators were superior to “regular” surgical masks.

They examined 29 different health care facilities on multiple continents, from North America to Asia and Africa.

The percentage of healthcare workers testing positive for COVID in each group was tracked to determine how effective or ineffective higher-quality masking was in preventing infection.

Unsurprisingly, the results confirmed that there is essentially zero difference between surgical or N95 respirators when it comes to tests results.

Again, as has been presented here on GLP and elsewhere, gain of function seems to be obfuscation or even flat out propaganda. Why? Even with the highly embellished CDC mortality numbers the probablity of death is less than 0.0010 (1/1000). There have been far worse influenza outbreaks. Twice as many people die from cancer each year. Three times as many due to heart disease. So, a weaponized virus is hard to believe. Influenza and pneumonia did not just disappear or go dormant. The labs stopped test for those viruses to focus on "COVID" per CDC orders. Doctors haphazardly lumping all respiratory cases into COVID stats in all of 2020. I have medical professionals within my family so I know this took place.

That being said, where is the bio-weapon? Occam's Razor suggests it should be tossed as a theory because it unnecessarily complicates matters when there are easier explanations.

We saw the propaganda. We know about the embellished death count to push the fear. Doctors have admitted that. We know how gullible the public is when it comes to fear promoted by TV and institutions. Did the powers need a novel bio-weapon to accomplish their jab goal? I don't believe it. Look at the TP scare and how irrational people behaved. They knew they could pull off COVID without a real virus that they themselves would need an antidote to minimize collateral damage. Why risk it when you can just pay off the media and the medical establishment to push the fear of a seasonal flue with a novel name? That is easiest and most safe.

Again, the death toll is far too low for it to be a gain of function event. Just contaminate the seasonal flu vaccine and roll with that. Tell everyone relentlessly that the symptoms they are experiencing are unique, even though all the symptoms of so called "COVID" are the exact same for influenza: headaches, olfactory loss, blood clots, lung scaring, cytokine storm, body aches, etc. Look it up!

In a sane world, this would end all masking immediately, and never again would we have to endure this particular humiliation ritual. Of course we all know the world isn't sane...

Given that the air transmitted virus size is at the micro level a mask is the equivalent of wearing a chainlink fence trying to keep out mosquitoes.
