Christians: the story of Aninias. let's hear your deceptive rationalizations | |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 79729929 United States 12/06/2022 09:24 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | The sin of Ananias was not that he kept back a portion of the sale of his property for himself but that he lied about it in an attempt to make himself appear more generous to people (Acts 5:4). This incident of lying to God was the first recorded public sin in the newly organized church, and it carried a severe punishment for Ananias and Sapphira. Their story serves as a warning to all believers that God does not tolerate dishonesty and hypocrisy. |

User ID: 82556934 United States 12/06/2022 10:03 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | That wasnt a private command that God only gave to ananias. Peter actually told them they ALL had to sell their property, turn in their money and share everything within their community. Anyone who didnt do this would get the death penalty. It only shows one husband and wife who kept some of the money. It most certainly was not that they lied, they disobeyed. If you killed someone in the old testament and then lied about it would your only sin be lying that you killed someone? |
