Ben tried to push him off with soundbites, but ron paul came back and was able to intellectualise his response, and got bens respect that he knew what he was talking about.

Normally people in power just laugh of questions, but ben here knew ron paul understood and ben gave him respect for him being able to understand this stuff.

Like ron paul often said, people on finance committees in washington had no idea how finance worked, and he had to educate them.

Even though we do not like these ptb, he(ben) at least showed he respected that ron paul understood what he was talking about.

Most people in congress would have no idea how usa finance works.
