Both things proved false. Now they know that they cannot get support, except in nuclear form, but that would be the end for everyone, that scenario is just academy. |

Some of us know how to read a map, and have a fairly good geo-political, historic, geographic,and military understanding. As I suspect that you do and also that behind the scenes you are actually quite nervous. I sympathize with you, I'd be nervous myself if I was a Romanian. For one thing, I'd be wondering just how much military gear Russia has flown in over the last 25 years or so since the "breakup" of Yugoslavia and has tucked away in DUMBs. For another, I'd be distinctly nervous about having a potential well-armed enemy at my back. Sure you have the 101st Airborne deploying, plus another 700 or so tanks, APCs, and other military goodies rapidly coming your way. So how much will you leave in the west, if you move east? As for "pissing off the Islamic world for the benefit of little old Serbia." I'd say in a heartbeat. And I think you know it too. |
