Re: The Orthodox Church: The One, Holy, Catholic and Apostolic Church
The Apoptotic churches are not officially recognised as Christian.

I used to attend one.

In the Apostolic church they did healing and casting out of demons every week. They allowed the Holy Spirit to run the service and it rocked and rolled the whole church Congregational.

I never saw any of that in any Catholic Church service I attended. My best buddy was a Alter Boy at the local Catholic church. They don't heal people in the Catholic church nor teach people how to do it.

They didn't even teach people how to directly connect to God.

They are The Tares in the parable about the Wheat and the Tares according to most non Catholic church ministers.

That is why there will never be a unification within the churches.

There will never be unification within the Churches because Catholics won’t turn the Mass where they receive Christ in the Eucharist (which all Christians did for 1,500 years and you sadly don’t) into a spectacle? I was an altar server too. Catholics have charismatic groups where healings have occurred, not to mention the countless pilgrimage sites all over the world where countless miracles occur, or the countless miracles that countless saints all over the world throughout the ages have been involved in. Catholic priests are the best exorcists in the world. They’ve been at it longer and have the fullness of truth. But yeah sure Catholics are tares and their Church, the original Church founded by Jesus, is the reason there won’t be Christian unification. People like Martin Luther who divided the Body of Christ and started his own denomination by no authority but his own aren’t the reason Christians are divided. That makes sense. It seems your stance is that there can’t be Christian unification because some Catholics will never leave the Catholic Church and you’ll never become Catholic. I assume you think the latter is true, and I can assure you that the former is, so I guess you’re right.

what?

I never heard this in my life and I met Jesus during the Jesus movement We saw many supernatural things in the 70's but around 1978 the Spirit lifted and the movement ended.

So it lasted for a good 12 years.

But your saying they let the HS lead the service, today in 2022?

Can you give me the name of this church and a link for their website? And do they have churches in the PNW (America).

It's huge in the Northwest because many of the early priests and monks came to Alaska and then down the West coast.

Just look up any orthodox church. It's the same just in different languages. American Orthodox Church is more based in the United states. Other commenters can post about this

I’m the guy who wrote the paragraph above and the smartass “crickets” comment. I’ve been Catholic my whole life. I just want to apologize and acknowledge the arrogance and pride of my comment above. I said “I can assure you the latter is true” (I don’t usually use fancy words like former/latter, I was just being a condescending jerk) implying I know that I will always be Catholic. I can’t know that. It’s ignorant to just assume that I won’t experience some trauma or make bad choices that put me on a different path. I don’t know the stories of people who have left their faith, but it probably wasn’t a choice they took lightly. I don’t know what they’ve been through or what I may go through. It is also arrogant to act like I know everything. I fully believe everything I said. I believe that the Catholic Church is the Church Jesus founded. I believe in the power of the sacraments. But can I say I know with 100% certainty that I’m right? To do so is, in my opinion, the height of arrogance and ignorance. I believe it was Plato who said “True wisdom is knowing that you don’t know everything.” I really hope and pray that Christians can unite again. I don’t want a single soul to be lost. OP, you are my brother in Christ. I’m sorry if I hijacked or derailed your thread. You were just trying to share what you think is true with others. One last thing I’ll say though, the word catholic in the Apostle’s Creed is not capitalized because catholic means universal (which is why the Church has been called catholic since the time of the apostles). The Catholic Church acknowledges that there is truth in many if not all religions. God’s laws are written on our hearts. We were made in the image of God with the knowledge of good and evil. The Catechism of the Catholic Church says “Those who, through no fault of their own, have not been adequately introduced to the truth of the Gospel, are judged by the dictates of their conscience.” God bless.

There is only one church mentioned in the Bible and that is the Church of God. All others are churches of men.
