not mine either, but I really REALLY hate brutal cold temps. supposed to be close to 0 here in a couple days (@ night) ....way to early in the season for these temps.

No, I see it coming...I'm saying it's no big deal...I've seen worse by far...In 1996 we had 22" of snow on top of 2" of ice over night. Then the temperatures plunged into the -20 range for weeks...

I surely do hope that the ranchers up that way are paying attention to this weather warning that is coming and get their cattle down off the open range and into some kind of shelter from these deep below temps. Surely they have learned from the past recent winters that those winters are getting more severe.

Their cattle are worth more than gold not just to them but to all the people that depend on the protein.

Pray for the ranchers/cowboys/owners to have wisdom to act early and not let their cattle freeze on the hoof out on the range.

Unfortunately, my kids are in the path of this. What is really quite sad is that they have a couple of horses. One of those has never been in the cold before--I love that horse--spiritual kin of a sort it seems :). They have a barn that can be heated and blankets of course. Heating a barn can be a bit expensive--I might say a prayer for that horse. He was already shivering--before the cold snap. Later this week it is going to be bad in their area.

It isn't that so much as they get fatigued I imagine and timing is everything and also money to pay the cowboys to go out and round all the cattle up and then a matter of where to house/shelter them that far out on the range.

The heart of all ranchers and cowboys is to protect their animals at all cost but sometimes it is just hard especially now with the economy struggling and money hard to get and costs of everything up so high.

We need an intervention....from GOD. Please don't forget in your Christmas prayers of thanks to thank GOD for all the cowboys that manage your protein/meat so it can survive.

Without cattle and cowboys people are going to be really hungry like they have never known here in the US.

You can't thank them enough for the hard work they do to preserve your food supply to continue.
