Avatar was the last time I went to the cinema. It was real pretty and all, but it was just a remake of Dances with Wolves with blue people instead of natives. The story was weak and as hard as I tried, I just couldn't muster up enough fucks to give about any of the characters. I walked out feeling ripped off, half an hour of ads and trailers for bad movies and it cost us almost $100 bucks with tickets and snacks for 2. I tried to think of the last time I went to a movie and enjoyed it, and I realized it had been more than a decade.

Absolutely magnificent visuals, must see in 3D/IMAX. you are transported for nearly 3 hours. Made me feel like a kid again. Also the story was damn good, and actually quite traditional/conservative viewpoints. Strong family, fighting for what is yours, keeping traditions, etc. Very very good, better than the first.

I would have to see it again to catch them but that's no problem I will probably see it many more times. The journey of it all coupled with visuals in 3D and following the family, who I was instantly rooting for, was a lot to focus on. I'm telling everyone I know to see it asap.

I saw the first Avatar movie for the first time about 8 days ago. Was better than I expected. Avatar 2 is three hours twelve minutes long. WTF?

I didn't see climate change references. I saw references to senseless killing of precious wildlife and exploitation and waste of finite resources. Like how one could get mad at people killing tigers or throwing away electronics for the latest model every year. Dominion over earth does not mean degradation into greed and gluttony which is a huge problem these days.
