the old ones relied on oral tradition.. maybe hunting down the evivalent of eidetic and echoic genius and tasking them with preserving things is a better idea.

I think theres a reason so much stone work carries attempts at holding history.

I can't tell exactly what I learned exactly when, but I know
now, that the best way to harmony (and a sound nation?) goes
through knowledge of one's true roots.
