Ahem. Remember a few years ago we were talking about how NSA captures and stores in searchable form everything that is sent digitally everywhere in the world? Remember how that includes ALL emails and text messages? Remember how some of us pointed out that telephone conversations are sent digitally as well?

Remember how that FISA court opinion discussed NSA and “government contractors” conducting unauthorized keyword searches of those NSA information troves without warrants? Remember how FISA warrants permit searching information obtained in the past as well as going forward? Remember how FISA warrants are “two-hop” warrants, permitting searching everything you sent or received, everything sent or received by everyone you communicated with, and everything sent or received by everyone THEY communicated with? Remember how that meant that any illegal searches already performed would be legitimized by a FISA warrant?

Link it all up, and it is pretty clear they do key word searches on EVERYTHING sent or posted digitally by EVERYONE. Most of us will never know they searched our recorded phone calls and text messages, because we are nobody. If we happen to be political or have some power, well, a FISA warrant cleans up all the constitutional violations. Everyone is being constantly monitored. Everyone.
