I mean there's also another thing, everyone is looking at the angle where AT taking BK's case is bad for the mother, but imagine, BK is found guilty and then uses the fact that she knew and defended the mother and AT didn't represent him correctly and asks for the decision to be overturned

It's crazy nothing in this case makes any sense, looks like a really bad written b-movie scenario with tons of plot holes

At first it was the mother of murder victim Xana Kernodle that Ann Taylor defended.

Court records now show that Ann Taylor was also a member of the defense team on criminal cases involving Benjamin Mogen and his wife, Korie Hatrock.

Benjamin and Korie, are the dad and step mother of slain victim Madison Mogen. Their cases are over now. Ann Taylor served as counsel for Madison's dad in September 2020, when he was facing two misdemeanor drug charges.

He eventually entered a guilty plea to one of the charges as part of a deal with prosecutors according to court records, and was sentenced to 90 days in prison.

Ann Taylor also worked with Hatrock - stepmother of Madison Mogen as recently as June. She was part of her legal counsel after she was charged with one misdemeanor and two felony drug counts.

Bryan Kohberger's defense lawyer, then has represented two of the murder victims' families.

But has now switched sides, to represent the very killer of their daughters. See less

Banfield should be ashamed. She should offer her rehab. I think that's what the POA was for with AT sending her to a rehab

Lawyers don’t work for free, love. BK is (obviously) indigent.

The mother should be ashamed too, look at her previous charges, I highly doubt she was part of x or x's sister j life by court order. Even in her interviews she says she hasn't talked to j. Looks like an irrelevant drug addict trying to cash in on her daughters murder. Disgusting all around with the mother and news with an irrelevant story if the mother was not even part or relevant in x's life. Just gross.

Well she can check herself into rehab at anytime..so why doesn't she? A public defender is not a power of attorney, she's an attorney. If she asked a court to order AT as her POA then she is legally not able to make decisions on her own, AT would of had to accept and it's a huge legal process where c kernodle would have to be deemed mentally incapable of making decisions. This lady is lying, a public defender doesn't send anyone to rehab, a court can order it as part of ruling and she'll go or she checks herself in, if not she breaks probation..but we know she's lying because she has not checked herself in.

Huh? The very killer? He is innocent until proven guilty. Should public defenders just quit after their first case incase the next person knows the first person they represented? Granted the lawyer does not look the best, she wasn't even on the crime scene a full day to gather information for defense. I don't think she is the best representation but there is no conflict of interest. Might as well get rid of all public defenders of that is the case. Public defenders around here get assigned a case and do their job, no previous clients are relevant because no public defender is discussing a previous client with their new client. A conflict of interest would be a public defender represnting two clients against each other at the same time. AT is not doing that she had former clients and bk is current, no conflict. I'm not a fan of hers but it is what it is.

Many lawyers will take high profile cases, maybe it’s because it’s a DP case and the field is limited?

Duncan Levin, a former assistant district attorney in the Manhattan DA’s office who has no official connection to the Idaho murders case, spoke to The Independent about the strength of the criminal case and what to expect next as it makes its way through the courts.

According to Mr Levin, the affidavit is “unusually” detailed in laying out the case against the suspect.

“Usually probable cause affidavits are very bare bones as at the early stage of the investigation the police and prosecution don’t want to lay out the entire case to the defense,” he said.

“Here it was unusually detailed.”

Mr Levin pointed out two potential reasons for this: to prove to the court that there is enough probable cause to believe that investigators have the right person and that he should be held behind bars until trial, and to correct some of the speculation around the high-profile case.

“I think they wanted to correct some of the narrative of what’s going on,” he said.

“This case has allegedly been cracked through old-school police methods and they’re trying to demonstrate how thorough it is.”

However, despite the extensive nature of the affidavit, Mr Levin said that there are gaps in the case so far laid out by investigators.

“What’s interesting is that there is no specific evidence that puts Kohberger in the house at the time of the murder,” he said.

“There’s no actual footage of him entering the house, no cellphone data of him definitively in the house,” he said.

“There’s no video of him behind the wheel of the car… so it’s a highly circumstantial case.

“It’s an extremely strong circumstantial case but as of yet nothing definitively placing him at the scene,” he said, adding: “But the strands of it all point in his direction with some of key damning pieces of evidence in the case.”
