A conflict defender was substituted to the case, so we know that there is a potential conflict of interest that could arise, AT obviously knew this and did the right thing The questions people have are why didn’t they appoint another DP qualified attorney other than AT, that is the list in the tweet of DP attorneys Some will say they had no idea AT was given both cases and why didn’t she recuse herself from BCK instead since CK was her first case There are theories that this was a drug hit, Kohberger bought drugs at the house, the house was a drug house, etc. Let’s say this is the avenue AT goes down for BCK defense strategy So if they use that as a defense, the prosecution could call all the parents to testify their kids didn’t sell drugs, how could AT cross examine C Kernodle on her drug use or what she may have done with her daughter without it being a conflict First and foremost c kernodle was arrested before bk, AT is chief public defender, I don't know about idaho but around here the chief gets every case, then it gets divided out. At this point, it does not appear that AT has even met c kernodle. If she had and there was a conflict then she would of stayed with c kernodle. I don't believe the conflict lies with bk, it would lie with someone arrested prior to kernodle that AT has represented first. Again, if she never personally spoke with kernodle, which according to the court documents, she hasn't,there would be no conflict of interest if c kernodle had to testify. C kernodle is on the run for jumping ball btw so I highly doubt a prosecutor would call her to testify to anything, her actions prove she is not of sane mind and does not make sane decisions. She put in for change of council January 5, after she got BCK case and while she had CK case, I’m not understanding why you think it’s related to a prior case she had before CK I guess She morally should not have had both CK & BCK as clients because CK may be called to testify on her daughters behalf and she could have had potential problems if she and BCK use the drug selling defense, she knew this and wisely recused herself The question is why didn’t she recuse herself from BCK instead of CK, BCK is a high profile case that will get her lots of attention and that’s why I think she dropped CK in favor of BCK
