She put in for change of council January 5, after she got BCK case and while she had CK case, I’m not understanding why you think it’s related to a prior case she had before CK I guess
She morally should not have had both CK & BCK as clients because CK may be called to testify on her daughters behalf and she could have had potential problems if she and BCK use the drug selling defense, she knew this and wisely recused herself
The question is why didn’t she recuse herself from BCK instead of CK, BCK is a high profile case that will get her lots of attention and that’s why I think she dropped CK in favor of BCK

There are plenty that can lead a murder trial, she is chief public defender that just means she's going to be the one leading but not the only one, even if she were the only one in her district as you say, that's irrelevant as it is the state representing him, not a district and another public defender would take the case. But her being the only one in a district is nonsense, there is always a backup. What if AT passed away, everyone stands in a frozen state of shock until they hire another chief public defender? All public defenders are qualified to do the same things.
