If you tailgate me I'll smoke you out, just the way it is. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 73230195 I have a parking lot full of those waiting for little things like transmissions... transfer cases... suspension parts due to the pretty, huge offset roller skate wheels (clown shoes) the "look at me" crowd puts on them. I complain about what moran kids do to the trucks but I end up making a lot of money off them. |

Quoting: Happy in Nature It need $10K in work and rebuilds. :( Not sure what I am going to do. Get a second opinion. Needs a differential (cannot make a right turn in 4WD or it will snap - been there, done that, have the t-shirt), partial motor rebuild (I cannot drive up steep hills without overheating, cannot use AC without overheating engine), power steering pump (rebuilt twice already), headlights, windshield (old glass, hard to see at night), heat shield, mud guards on all four wheels, Magma shocks (presently driving on broken shocks because...), rear taillight cover, and speedometer cable. If I do all that, then it's time for paint and body work. Labor is cheap, but parts are expensive and anything new (if it can be found) has 15% VAT added. Newer Hilux is in the $25K range, so rebuild is probably best. |

User ID: 80145511 United States 12/30/2022 08:39 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I bought a 2012 BMW 535Xi (F10 Generation) It's the best car I've ever owned. It's power full & fast when you need it(300HP), all wheel drive, and extremely quiet inside even on noisy freeways. In 2012 the sticker price was ridiculous, 65K - But now days that's not that much. I bought for 21K with 45K miles. I've got 115K miles on it now. This is the only work that's been done and all of it by me. 1. Electric water pump @74K (fails right on schedule) 2. Valve Cover & gasket @110K (gasket starting to leak and built in un-servicable PVC valve failed.(bastards!) 3. Spark Plugs @100K 4. Serpentine Belt @ 100K 5. 2 Sets of tires 6. Battery at around 90K All the parts(minus tires) so far are less $800. Pretty good in my book. Oil changes every 10K not in the figure above. Next thing I need to do is the lifetime spam fluid.
