Trans is dead again (don't buy a trans from TCI). It has at least half a million miles on it. I am in no hurry to fix it because it gets 9 MPG. Quoting: Crunch62 2002 Mitsubishi Lancer OZ. 225K miles, runs and drives well. It has a leaky heater core and I haven't found the ambition to rip the entire dash out to replace it. 2004 PT Cruiser (I know, I know) - it was free, I just had to fix it. 70K miles, excellent condition. drives great. Also never buy from Monster transmissions. |

Maintenance is always cheaper than a promissory note or a retail installment contract. Quoting: Gemini Rising Love old beaters especially Toyotas. Everybody wants a new car with cameras in the ass and up the ass and talks to you and offers safe spaces and backs up for you and all that BULLSHIT. I'll of course keep it if I have to but I would drive anything with an engine and 4 wheels if it got me from point a to point b back in my day. |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 83837646 United States 12/30/2022 10:14 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | My Biden Beater is a 2004 MB c230 coupe compressor. Needed something good on fuel before fuel skyrocketed. Was an Old lady Florida car with only 52k miles picked up for $6k. Daily work horse is 1993 7.5 liter big block f250 reg cab 4x4...best trucks ever built hands down. Going to town need truck is 2006 2500hd lt3 silverado with 6.0. Summer sunshine car is 2002 firebird convertible ...white with new black top. Sharp car with only 68k miles. Fun vehicle is blue/white 1960 chevy c20 apache with 70k original miles. Wife's daily work car is 2019 buick encore and her back up just in case car is a 2012 kia soul with 150k miles....just rebuilt entire suspension and replaced timing belt etc. Runs and feels like new. Have my first car i bought new at age 16 on blocks in barn needing restored...black 86 camaro iroc. Looking to buy 2005 E55 MB and or a c7 vette....when prices come back down to earth. Just not sure what to Part with as all my vehicles are dependable and most of the new stuff is a disappointment. Am being gifted a 2013 black ltz chevy 2500hd extended cab with 780 miles... was my father's retirement present to himself. Has sat in garage for 10 years and is still new condition. Haven't taken it yet as don't have a need for it and car market has been 2 fuxed 2 trade it for something new. Will probably sell it on bringatrailer this spring. Wife wants a c300....so we will see what the future brings as we don't finance things that rust and only purchase when the deal is in our favor. Maybe Adesa repo auction prices will look like 2010 again in coming year. |

Quoting: Obi Won Yes it's a 2008, but I waited 5 years for delivery. I got it from Holbert's Porsche / Audi in PA. I paid $135,000 but a famous football player offered me 4 times the price. I declined. It's one of my favorite toys. Pic is my avatar. Audi R8's skyrocket in price. So, did the Lexus LFA. It always had a nice design to it. If it's gone up in price over $135k, it's not worth it. Should've sold and bought a Porche Tycanf for $86k. |
