Luke chapter 2 tells us of two people, Simeon and Anna, who were expecting Christ the Messiah, and they were blessed to see and even hold the Messiah as a newborn. How did they know when to expect his birth?

They studied Daniel's prophecy (chapter 9) and knew exactly when he would arrive. That is seven weeks, and threescore and two weeks (69 weeks or 483 years) from the commandment to restore and to build Jerusalem.

In the same way that most people in the land of Israel knew not the time of their visitation because they didn't understand or possibly even read the Daniel 9 prophecy, and because of that denied the Messiah, even today Christians are denying our Messiah through their lack of understanding of the scriptures.

Daniel 9 teaches that Christ fulfilled the 70 weeks prophecy, but most Christians today deny Him and make the same mistake that was made by those of that time.
