Russia has around 70 billion $ military budget annually while USA has a trillion. Whatever Russia has, USA already has it but better.

The distraction would be from the economic meltdown.

Which is all the more peculiar considering most of them had parents or grandparents who supposedly were in the Holly Cost.

Let's say the US has the most modern bus with 50 people in it driving at 80 mph towards a 500 foot high cliff.

Russia has a 20 year old bus, still carries 50 people, also headed towards the same cliff at 80 mph.

Moments before the cliff both drivers attempt to stop 50 feet before the cliff by slamming on the breaks....

Both busses unable to stop at this point fly over the cliff.

Both busses slam into the ground at the bottom of the cliff and burst into flames killing everyone.

This is where we are now. Technology will play a small part in all this but when the players involved (on both sides) go "all in" the end result will pretty much be the same, you will be dead.

The 80's film Wargames said it best: The only way to win is to not play the game.

If you believe either side can stop missiles launched from subs then you have no actual grasp on reality.
