Slavery has been going on for thousands of years. Odds are that everyone had an ancestor who was a slave at some point in their genealogical line.

I didn't say that, sad pony. I was simply pointing out that slavery is not, nor has ever been, limited to one group of humans. It is a blemish that has affected every group of people on this planet.

With this in mind, everyone would be paying everyone who is or will ever be born for the sins of people who lived long ago. It would never end. Reparations are impossible. Better to forgive and move on and not repeat the mistakes of the past.
