This Morning, I caught Someone Messing With My Air Vent... Possibly A Camera... | |

User ID: 10576315  United Kingdom01/16/2023 10:23 AM  Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | So, this morning at around 8:30 ish AM, I was in my bedroom making the bed etc and I kept hearing this scraping/scratching noise..... I was looking around the room to see where it was coming from... I couldn't pinpoint the source of the noise... 10 minutes later, I heard it again with a tapping noise.... I finally pinpointed where the sounds were coming from.... The strange noises were coming from an air vent, just under a large set of drawers a few inches from my floor and then I spotted it..... I saw what looked like a thin black wire moving through and poking out of my air vent.... I pulled on the wire wondering wtf it was.... I saw at the end of the wire, what looked like a camera at the end of it.... As soon as I tugged on the wire to look at the end of it, it suddenly got yanked back from my air vent..... Wtf!?.... Is this someone playing a horrible prank on me with the wired camera or?!....  I'm so spooked, to say the least.... First time I've experienced this here and I'm thinking about boarding that air vent up now..... ... ~Blue Spirit~ |

I'd be knocking on the doors, pretending to be concerned for their welfare on the basis that you think the landlord is trying to spy on tenants. Check their air vent, look around when inside if invited, explain what you experienced and gauge their reactions. If they're guilty, you'll know, and then can either move or call the cops if it is them. |

How it is currently though, there's some building/renovation work going on in one of the neighbours apartments so I was thinking this was an obvious mistake that they send this through my air vents, if it was them.... Thanks. :-) Apartment management shoud certainly tell you anytime any type of intrusive inspection is going to happen. I bet they would be interested to hear if one of you neighbors is becoming a liability to them, if you can contact them. |

This could be a common return duct shared with other zones on the air handler. If they are scoping it for whatever reason they really should have warned you. |
