Idk if it'll be because some legal reasons or if they will say he is in jail when he is not.

i'll guess a plea bargain that is only the lightest felony
with 2 years of probation with "time served". they like
that "time served" crap because it means no jail time because
maybe he'll be in a holding cell for a day or two.

if he does get a felony conviction, he can't touch a real
gun nor can he vote. i don't know if california allows felons to vote, but that is pretty common in most states.
