Quoting: Anonymous Coward 80346222 What about the walls that have been wrapped in aluminized sarking like sisilation? Will it see through any of them? That is a good question Based on the article I think the answer is based on the data set used to train the ai. So in the future probably definitely. (OP) Truth User ID: 81433187 United States 01/20/2023 09:27 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | It's a pain to dodge all the ads but here is a key snippet The researchers at Carnegie Mellon University have developed a new method for detecting three-dimensional shapes and movements of human bodies in a room, using only WiFi routers. The team used DensePose, a system for mapping all of the pixels on the surface of a human body in a photo, which was developed by London-based researchers and Facebook’s AI team. Essentially it is a way to capture a set of coordinates for each joint like an arm, a head, a torso, etc., which is known as a key point that can describe a person's pose. They then created a deep neural network that maps WiFi signals’ phase and amplitude sent and received by routers to coordinates on human bodies. Quoting: interesting engineeringThe technology works by sending a low-powered WiFi signal through a wall, which reverberates around the room. It detects all the objects in the room, cancels out the static objects, and when the signal bounces back, uses the reflection of moving objects to generate a radar-like image. It can work through standard drywall, wooden fences, and even concrete walls, though the range and accuracy depend on the type of wall. Anywhere there is wifi they can see everything - except colours or writing on surfaces Quoting: Gargantuan Tarantula #1 reason they took the lead out of paint That is a very interesting prospect I am under the understanding that a perfect faraday cage is difficult to achieve and I am interested to know the differing results of different layers of protection But I do think that enough training data with these different protective strategies can overcome the protection. Furthermore, led lights are supposed to house some type of tracking ability and surely can be networked in if they are not themselves little wifi hubs to help richocet the signals. Measuring waveform and response time is old technology. It's all radar. It can be done on any frequency...Cell phones, radio stations, TV broadcasts, and even latent emf. We're literally bathed in radio frequencies 24/7. All you have to do is pick one and do the math. |
