Their key demographic is dying and the younger generations aren't clamoring to run out and get a Harley. They need to find a way to get the younger generation interested in their product. Their sales in the recent years have been abysmal. Buck Tardwater |

It’s not something you do overnight.” Zeitz’s pronouncement seems guaranteed to make a not-insignificant portion of the manufacturer’s customer base cringe. For many enthusiasts, the thing that really sets a Harley apart from other motorcycles—American-made or otherwise—is a thunderously loud internal combustion engine. But the company knows that no matter how important those large-displacement mills might be change is on the horizon. Maybe by “long term” he means several generations from now. If not, this is a surefire recipe for disaster. Less than 50% [link to www.americanthinker.com (secure)] All these years Harley was just starting to make a reliable bike. Can you imagine how long it will take them to NOT make junk from scratch. Harley ruins thing and turns people ghey |

They could have hardly made them worse as most ex-Harley owners will say. Stupid heavy engine and gear-box combination makes them unride-able in many nations and even states who don't have dead straight road. It will improve the bikes and their handling. It will add value to their gasoline engine bikes because they will hopefully become rare. |

Do you think that these executive really have a say in how their companies are run? No, that comes from a place far above their boardrooms. See how literally EVERYTHING is changing at once? That is the handiwork of those in the shadows, not the supposed “heads” of corporations. People who invoke "our democracy" really mean "their power." We are not now, nor have we ever been, a democracy. That's deliberate Communist word shifting. We are a constitutional republic. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 84921315 United States 01/22/2023 05:42 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Any large bike manufacturer making this decision is gonna go bust fast... Quoting: Anonymous Coward 57594442 That said, the days are numbered for them all imo. The world is heading towards all electric and at some point driverless and motorcycles will ultimately be banned sadly, just a matter of time.... I hate that thought btw... It's impossible to go all electric. It's impossible to go 50% electric. The grid can't handle it. At 0.41% electric vehicles in California it is causing them to ration power. The charging infrastructure isn't there. The amount of cobalt and other rare earth minerals aren't available. It's a pipe dream. The move to ethanol was stupid enough, but it does replace a percentage of the gasoline you pump into your car with government money. In 10 years there will be major transportation issues caused by this lunacy and we'll look at railroads. They're the only manufacturing sector that still have a full (more or less) domestic infrastructure. The used gas powered vehicle market will make the current housing sitation look menial. As if Cash-For-Clunkers 15 years ago wasn't part of their plan. I'm in Wyoming and the only way EVs will work here without a quantum level technology leap is if we provide power on the highway, like electric buses in European cities. And that ignores the grid problem... Thread: Wyoming Legislators Want to Ban EVs by 2035 |
