Major Derailment at Tehachapi Pass. North & Central California cut off from the Southland.

I've driven through there. It's a depressed reservation and the only stores are chains like home depot and walmart. Nothing will happen, it's an excuse to raise prices again.

Yes I've been that way many times on my way up to Lake Isabella, and points further north. I used to like it, but with all the wind turbines, now not so much.

What a freaking train wreck

It now looks like they expect to have it open in a few days.

No it mostly comes from the Central Valley, But much of it does pass through the Mojave Desert on it's way to Los Angeles and other parts of the USA.

You try moving 10,000 tons of potatoes to Los Angeles and see how much it costs you for truck v rail. Although there are plenty of trucks about they do not move huge volumes.
