Quoting: MonkeyWrangler The poor soul, killing her husband so he would not experience any more pain only not to be able to go thru it on her end. Not that she should have, but can you imagine the anguish she must have felt killing the love of her life then sitting there for 4 hours dealing with what she had done and could not do. Just tragic on so many levels. "A woman fatally shot her terminally ill husband inside a Florida hospital on Saturday and then barricaded herself in his room for four hours before surrendering in an ultimately failed murder-suicide. Ellen Gilland, 76, told officers that her 77-year-old husband Jerry Gilland had been ill for some time and they had planned the shooting together". [link to www.dailymail.co.uk (secure)] If capable of it, he should have shot her, then himself. It’s not in woman’s nature to do it the other way around. Very irresponsible of him to let her do the heavy lifting. |

Yes, she was a good woman, trying to take care of her beloved man. I don’t hold it against her that she couldn’t pull the trigger on herself, she would really need to be almost as bad off as her husband to do so. The anguish she must have felt, and must still be going through… I’m putting her on my prayer list. The fact that here dying husband was in pain is the sticking point here. We all know why he was in pain, and quite unnecessarily, too - doctors are afraid to prescribe sufficient levels of narcotics for fear of the DEA or local goons coming down on them. Have you noticed that most problems in this country come from the cops? They heartlessly enforce bad laws, as if they were robots. Well, last time I looked, robots aren’t human. Don’t give them the privilege of acting towards them as if they were. |

Oh well, if it were me, I'd let her go. Heck, she's now going to be more of a burden on society rotting in a old folks home jail. Maybe Desantis will step in and grant a pardon. |

I mean murderers lie. Doctors should be able to prescribe what a person needs particularly if the person is in the hospital as in being carefully monitored so they can't be abusing the medication somehow. The last thing we need is that maid shit, then every damn time a difficult problem came up that would be suggested. Sometimes people who don't think they can be fixed can. Not saying that applies here, but you don't want take one case or even a handful of cases and use them to institute something like that. |
