Quoting: Anonymous Coward 82402438 it's from the parents. sibling rivalry egged on by the parents, usually. sometimes though when there's only 1 of kne sex and 2 or more of the other, the 1 will want another of their own sex to not feel alone. |

Congratulations, you screwed and got pregnant together. Yay! Now, go have a baby and raise it. This gender reveal crap is so fricking stupid! Just be happy it is healthy and let the sex fall where it may. Boy or Girl. No other options! |

I do hope they aren't traumatized by this. I did laugh when people don't understand male and female problems. I guess it starts early. I have a cousin who told his little sister, when he was still a very young child, "you better be glad your a girl, because I am the baby boy around here'. Quoting: hankie If you even clicked on that youtube video you have ZERO LIFE I thought it was about something else actually but I don't get why they acted this way to their children, just tell them after the baby is born and come home. We had eight sibling in my family more girls than boys, not that it mattered I just found the reactions interesting. I don't remember anyone asking what the baby was going to be, of course during my childhood you were going to be guessing with a way to know. There was not reason to got to this kind of mind game with children. Just sit them down and say we found out the baby is going to be a girl or boy, no making it a surprise or anything else. The boys can be the big brothers and the girls will be the big sisters, pure and simple. Yes it hard not having more sex equal for boys, they need boys and girls seem to want another girls, but to see them hoping for another one like them and finding out this way it not going to be, is not fair to them. I can understand this. Don't ever humiliate your children on videos. Sorry I got a headache These are the times that tries men's and women's souls! May we come though it victorious! |

Talk about stereotyping before the thing is even out of the womb! Before we were able to know the gender, we were excited to have a baby. We fell in love with the baby in our stomachs. Now, they are falling in love with a stereotype and have everything all put into expectations before the kid is even born. Then they wonder why kids want to just be the other gender. Could it be that we lock them into the stereotypes before birth which has not been done until now? I mean, I grew up in the '50s and '60s. They act like those times were totally socially constructed, but I feel like I was just a kid until I hit puberty. I played with boys, worked on the farm--had some girl things like dresses on Sundays. Before my kids were born, we had a lot of green and yellow stuff for the beginning. After the birth, people brought over gender-specific clothes. The nursery was full of a variety of colors--since we didn't know the gender, we didn't do full on pink and blue. wkk |

It didn’t matter in my family either (growing up), or with my children (zero upset) or more recently my young granddaughters jumped out of a tent in pink dresses dancing, “Its a Boy!” They were perfectly happy at age 2 & 4. Therefore all these crying children over the sex of the sibling is SHOCKING! It’s one after another after another.... All I could think was “SPOILED BRATS!” What in the World! All that crying??? I wondered if they always did what they wanted & had their way 100% ?? Future entitled teens... Terrible! .. |

George Carlin nailed it when he called it CHILD WORSHIP Too many have made children the centre of their universe, and it's unbalanced, it only creates mini narcissists. Parents lacking in their own selves, and lacking in God, seem to elevate their children to god status. It sickens me. Seen too many let their children run amok, and be disrespectful brats and then use autism/ADHD as excuses (guy who penned ADHD said on his deathbed it wasnt even real) You can be a loving parent even when you set healthy boundaries and say the word "no" Now children instead of marvelling at a beautiful new baby coming into the family, react with entitled disgust. Very sad to warch indeed |

Very sad to warch indeed This, this, this! CHILDREN ARE TO BE SEEN AND NOT HEARD!! I get steamed when I’m out and I hear a mother say to a toddler, “What do you want to do now?” Or “What do you want to eat for lunch?”… STOP GIVING CHILDREN THAT AGE CHOICES!! I want to scream at them, “Stop trying to be their friend, and start being a parent!” You are not doing the child any favors by putting yourself on an equal footing with them, you are irreparably harming them. Carlin was spot on, and the little monsters that bad parenting is responsible for are now legion. Raised by parents who never grew up themselves, they are not equipped to handle real life, hence the new generation’s perverse devotion to “fairness” and “equity”. Their flawed upbringing failed to impress upon them that REAL LIFE IS UNFAIR, AND VERY OFTEN QUITE PAINFUL. Since the little darling’s false assumption that would be otherwise have been dashed, they now go around po-faced, with sullen expressions and shitty attitudes, blaming everyone but themselves for their problems. |
