I don't remember him naming himself jealous either, only describing himself as jealous.

The lion and lamb part blew my mind, not just because I remember reading it that way in the bible.

I also read commentators who wrote anywhere from a paragraph to a couple of pages on every verse of the bible.

I no longer had my library of Bible commentaries, but I searched out those I could remember, like Matthew Henry's commentaries. At least one Bible commentator had gone on at length about the symbolic interpretation of the lion and lamb verse. He particularly related it to scriptures about the scepter not departing from Judah, which was symbolized by the lion.

Another more mystical commentator said it represented Jesus having spiritual control over the lion and lamb aspects of his nature.

Too many commentators considered the lion and lamb imagery significant. So, where did they get it if not from that verse?

Anyway, I could not find those commentaries, on either that, or on the wolf and the lamb. Not one classic Bible commentator thought to interpret the meaning of the wolf and the lamb meaning.

Matthiew Henry talks at length about the verse before it, and then he talks at length about the verse after it, but he made no mention of either version of that verse.

Maybe it was never a genuine verse?

Maybe it was put in there, and later changed.

People have of course found all the artwork that features a lion and a lamb.

So. that verse change baffled me.

I wonder if we would find any comments on the verse in Matthiew Henry's commentary.
