Parable of the wise and foolish virgins- Rapture of the Bride
What was Jesus conveying with the parable of the wise and foolish virgins and what exactly was He warning us about?

“Then the kingdom of heaven shall be likened to ten virgins who took their lamps and went out to meet the bridegroom. Now five of them were wise, and five were foolish. Those who were foolish took their lamps and took no oil with them, but the wise took oil in their vessels with their lamps. But while the bridegroom was delayed, they all slumbered and slept.

“And at midnight a cry was heard: ‘Behold, the bridegroom is coming; go out to meet him!’ Then all those virgins arose and trimmed their lamps. And the foolish said to the wise, ‘Give us some of your oil, for our lamps are going out.’ But the wise answered, saying, ‘No, lest there should not be enough for us and you; but go rather to those who sell, and buy for yourselves.’ And while they went to buy, the bridegroom came, and those who were ready went in with him to the wedding; and the door was shut.

“Afterward the other virgins came also, saying, ‘Lord, Lord, open to us!’ But he answered and said, ‘Assuredly, I say to you, I do not know you.’

“Watch therefore, for you know neither the day nor the hour in which the Son of Man is coming.

Re: Parable of the wise and foolish virgins- Rapture of the Bride
The ten virgins signify Christians with the five wise virgins being of those who will be taken in the Rapture while the five foolish virgins will be left behind. The bridegroom is Jesus Christ and the bride are His true believers who walk by the Spirit.

The oil in the below passage is the Holy Spirit. The vessel is the person the Holy spirit indwells.

"Those who were foolish took their lamps and took no oil with them, but the wise took oil in their vessels with their lamps."

Those without oil are Christians who have quenched the Spirit.

One quenches the spirit when living in willful sin.

Quench not the Spirit.

Despise not prophesyings.

Prove all things; hold fast that which is good.

Abstain from all appearance of evil.
1 Thessalonians 5:19-22

And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, by whom you were sealed for the day of redemption.
Ephesians 4:30

Re: Parable of the wise and foolish virgins- Rapture of the Bride
Ephesians 4:30 tells us that we should not grieve the Spirit. We grieve the Spirit by living like the pagans (4:17-19), by lying (4:25), by being angry (4:26-27), by stealing (4:28), by cursing (4:29), by being bitter (4:31), by being unforgiving (4:32), and by being sexually immoral (5:3-5). To grieve the Spirit is to act out in a sinful manner, whether it is in thought only or in both thought and deed.

Both quenching and grieving the Spirit are similar in their effects. Both hinder a godly lifestyle. Both happen when a believer sins against God and follows his or her own worldly desires.

The only correct road to follow is the road that leads the believer closer to God and purity, and farther away from the world and sin. Just as we do not like to be grieved, and just as we do not seek to quench what is good—so we should not grieve or quench the Holy Spirit by refusing to follow His leading.

There are two camps: those that make the rapture synonymous with salvation and those that don't. People of the second camp that heed scriptural warnings from Jesus are often attacked as being proponents of works-based salvation which isn't the case.

Rather, this second group realizes Jesus gave us very specific warnings in scripture to heed in order to be counted worthy to escape and so that we may be filled with the Holy Spirit upon His arrival. Those without oil which is the Holy Spirit will not be taken.

Do Not Grieve the Spirit

Therefore, putting away lying, “Let each one of you speak truth with his neighbor,” for we are members of one another. “Be angry, and do not sin”: do not let the sun go down on your wrath, nor give place to the devil. Let him who stole steal no longer, but rather let him labor, working with his hands what is good, that he may have something to give him who has need. Let no corrupt word proceed out of your mouth, but what is good for necessary edification, that it may impart grace to the hearers. And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, by whom you were sealed for the day of redemption. Let all bitterness, wrath, anger, clamor, and evil speaking be put away from you, with all malice. And be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God in Christ forgave you.

wrong, the rapture isn't real. if you research it, it is only hundreds of years old.

What it signifies is to be prepared for the Lord's coming. And those that are prepared will be welcome into the Kindom with him and those that aren't won't. But we are always to be prepared because we won't know the date or time. But there will be signs of the coming.

The Rapture is scriptural and has been spoken of for thousands and thousands of years, it's prophesied in the Old Testament. The word 'Rapture' is rendered from the Latin rapiemur. Claiming the promised rescue of God's bride foretold in the Bible numerous times throughout the OT and NT as being only hundreds of years old is an attempt by the ignorant and lazy to twist and manipulate God's word.

Definition: Harpazo
v.
1. to seize, carry off by force
2. to seize on, claim for one’s self eagerly
3. to snatch out or away
~ from Thayer’s (New Testament Greek-English Lexicon)

In the Greek New Testament, the word harpazo is found a total of 17 times in 13 different verses. Each time harpazo is used this verb refers to a quick or sudden often violently physical “snatching away” or “catching away” of a person, a thing, or an idea. More important is the fact that in 5 of these 17 times harpazo is used in the New Testament harpazo ALWAYS refers to the literal physical (bodily) removal of a faithfully righteous human being from one place to another, or from one sphere of existence to another. The 5 times harpazo is used involving faithfully righteous people are when:
1. Philip is harpazo’d from the presence of the Ethiopian eunuch to a different location miles away (see Acts 8:39, AKJV)
2. Paul is harpazo’d from the Earth to the Third Heaven (see 2 Corinthians 12:2, AKJV)
3. Paul is harpazo’d from the Earth to the Third Heaven; second reference (see 2 Corinthians 12:4, AKJV)
4. Bride of Christ is harpazo’d from the Earth to the clouds to meet Her Groom (Christ Jesus) in the air (see 1 Thessalonians 4:17, AKJV); the understanding here is that the Bride will be taken to Heaven to be with Her Groom
5. Christ Jesus is harpazo’d from Bethany near the Mount of Olives to His Throne in Heaven (see Revelation 12:5; cf. Luke 24:50-51; Acts 1:9; AKJV)
Each one of the above five supernaturally powerful acts of the Holy Spirit by which literal bodily removals of humans either from one place to another on Earth or from off of this Earth to Heaven proves that the Rapture is a biblically sound doctrine. In fact, the English words Rapture and Raptured actually are derived from the Latin verb rapio (catch up or take away), and rapio is used in the Latin Vulgate Bible (also referred to as The Vulgate).

Re: Parable of the wise and foolish virgins- Rapture of the Bride
The Faithful Servant and the Evil Servant

“Let your waist be girded and your lamps burning; and you yourselves be like men who wait for their master, when he will return from the wedding, that when he comes and knocks they may open to him immediately. Blessed are those servants whom the master, when he comes, will find watching. Assuredly, I say to you that he will gird himself and have them sit down to eat, and will come and serve them. And if he should come in the second watch, or come in the third watch, and find them so, blessed are those servants. But know this, that if the master of the house had known what hour the thief would come, he would have watched and not allowed his house to be broken into. Therefore you also be ready, for the Son of Man is coming at an hour you do not expect.”

Then Peter said to Him, “Lord, do You speak this parable only to us, or to all people?”

And the Lord said, “Who then is that faithful and wise steward, whom his master will make ruler over his household, to give them their portion of food in due season? Blessed is that servant whom his master will find so doing when he comes. Truly, I say to you that he will make him ruler over all that he has. But if that servant says in his heart, ‘My master is delaying his coming,’ and begins to beat the male and female servants, and to eat and drink and be drunk, the master of that servant will come on a day when he is not looking for him, and at an hour when he is not aware, and will cut him in two and appoint him his portion with the unbelievers. And that servant who knew his master’s will, and did not prepare himself or do according to his will, shall be beaten with many stripes. But he who did not know, yet committed things deserving of stripes, shall be beaten with few. For everyone to whom much is given, from him much will be required; and to whom much has been committed, of him they will ask the more.

The Importance of Watching

“But take heed to yourselves, lest your hearts be weighed down with carousing, drunkenness, and cares of this life, and that Day come on you unexpectedly. For it will come as a snare on all those who dwell on the face of the whole earth. Watch therefore, and pray always that you may be counted worthy to escape all these things that will come to pass, and to stand before the Son of Man.”

Many people "think" that they have the Holy Spirit or " think" they know Jesus, but they don't.
That is what jesus was talking about in the Parable.

Just look at how many think they Prophesy for God, yet they are far from the Truth and do not know his voice.
Then there is the problem of those promoting Works, like you are and those who do those works because of the Holy Spirit moving in their lives.

You have no understanding of Salvation by Grace. It is free, it is not won, worked for or accomplished by deeds. To verify you are redeemed, then you look at your deeds inspired by the Holy Spirit as proof of that relationship.
Doing deeds(showing up with their lamps) to try to make that relationship valid, is what the foolish virgins did. It did not last( they ran out of oil) because it was done inthe flesh and in the mind and not a part of the heart.
So Jesus disowned them.

Why did the wise virgins not give the foolish virgins any oil?

Why only 1/2?

Why were they all sleeping and slumbering upon the call?

This parable should make the wise someone saddened..

.

Could have they shared more oil?

Could have they somehow affected the ratio?

Could they have slumbered less?

.

Bitter sweet parable..

Thank you for your response and you fall into the first camp I mentioned above. You equate being taken in the Rapture with salvation and because of this, accuse those following scripture and heeding the warnings of Jesus on conducting ourselves as being proponents of 'works-based salvation' which isn't the case at all. Your response is one of the reasons I started this thread.

I said above-

"There are two camps: those that make the rapture synonymous with salvation and those that don't. People of the second camp that heed scriptural warnings from Jesus are often attacked as being proponents of works-based salvation which isn't the case."

What you fail to realize is just because you have belief in Christ doesn't mean you're going to be taken in the Rapture. This is precisely why Jesus gave us warnings as to our conduct regarding His coming and why He told us to keep Watch. This is precisely why He told us to pray to be counted worthy. If all believers are to be taken in the Rapture, Jesus would have never mentioned the word "worthy" nor would he have given us direct commands as to how to conduct ourselves in these last days.

The oil in the parable is the Holy Spirit and those without any oil have grieved and quenched the Spirit through willful sin and because of this, those Christians are left behind. Jesus speaks on specific sins that will cause people to be left behind such as drunkenness, sexual immorality (licentiousness), and various other sins when one quenches the Holy Spirit. Many Christians will be left behind because of their conduct and people need to be cognizant of this fact.

Matthew 24:43-44

Jesus is saying above to keep Watch. Those who Watch are wise and live uprightly and will know the season. We may not know the day or hour Jesus will come for His bride but we will know the season and we are fully in the season. The thief is Satan and he breaks into our house (house meaning us also referred to as our temple) and is given access through willful sin by way of opening doors for the demonic to dwell leaving no room for the Holy Spirit. This is why Jesus says a house divided cannot stand and we cannot serve two masters.

Those keeping watch are not living in willful sin and are diligently seeking Christ's return which will be at a time that most will not expect (As in the days of Noah before the flood where they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage and were caught off-guard and were swept away).

Here is the full verse-

No One Knows the Day or Hour

“But of that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels of heaven, but My Father only. But as the days of Noah were, so also will the coming of the Son of Man be. For as in the days before the flood, they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noah entered the ark, and did not know until the flood came and took them all away, so also will the coming of the Son of Man be. Then two men will be in the field: one will be taken and the other left. Two women will be grinding at the mill: one will be taken and the other left. Watch therefore, for you do not know what hour your Lord is coming. But know this, that if the master of the house had known what hour the thief would come, he would have watched and not allowed his house to be broken into. Therefore you also be ready, for the Son of Man is coming at an hour you do not expect.

The term Rapture is derived from the latin 'rapio' and isn't manmade but rather scriptural. This snatching away has happened in the past to various people and is noted directly, cross-referenced, and alluded to many times Biblically in the Old and New Testaments.

Regarding these last days, it's a promise to rescue the bride of Christ from the coming judgment that will take place in what will be the worst 7 years on earth in the existence of mankind as Jesus' body of believers are not appointed to wrath and yet another declaration from God (because Jesus' body of believers are one in Christ and Jesus has already taken the wrath of God for mankind on the cross).

The dead also too must be resurrected in the Rapture to be awarded for their good works while on earth in the form of heavenly rewards, put on the incorruptible to attend the Marriage Supper of the Lamb and so that they may be able to enter into Christ's earthly millennial reign which begins after His Second Coming. The Rapture(s) are multi-faceted in purpose and timing.

The translations you use above are not from God but rather man which may be why you're confused.

Re: Parable of the wise and foolish virgins- Rapture of the Bride
The book tells you to trust your god...

Trust your pedo priest...

Trust the elite system of ten rules written in stone tablet, trust the pope, trust divine monarchy....

I trust my knowing that them who want your trust are way richer than you

The God men wrote about in the Bible seems very similar to the all seeing eye camera's and iphones of today. Could it have only ever been a control psyop of people thousands of years ago?

Re: Parable of the wise and foolish virgins- Rapture of the Bride
Every word Jesus spoke was with a specific purpose. Jesus speaks below on the importance of Watching. What does a believer do when He is truly watching? He lives upright because the individual knows what's at stake and the gravity of the situation. A watchman knows the regret many will feel and can only imagine the terror ahead for those left behind which will be the worst 7 years in the history of mankind and can begin at any moment.

Jesus specifically talks about what we should not be doing and also that we should pray to be counted worthy to escape. This is a warning and a direct command from Jesus regarding the times we live in today, this very second. In order to be counted worthy, we must have oil which is the Holy Spirit and through daily repentance, assuring our lamps are full and that we have not quenched the Holy Spirit through willful sin.

Luke 21: 34-36

Re: Parable of the wise and foolish virgins- Rapture of the Bride
There are exactly 12,000 words in the book of Revelation. This number signifies the group of people that the book of Revelation and the Bible in general centers around and who the 7-year Tribulation is designated for which are those who rejected their own prophesied Messiah over 2000 years ago as Jesus is the only one who can save their souls. The twelve thousand from the 12 tribes are those sealed by God (Revelation 7:4-8) and highlight the only way to salvation, belief in Jesus Christ. These converts are tasked with spreading the gospel to all people on earth and are later killed for their testimonies.

The 7-year Tribulation is not for the body of Christ as the church isn’t on earth during this period of God’s judgment. Christ Jesus has already taken judgment and the wrath of God on behalf of all who believe in Him when He was on the cross therefore those who’ve given their lives to Christ are not appointed judgment nor the wrath of God and will not be here for the 7-year Tribulation.

Jesus paid the ticket of salvation as a free gift to save those who put their faith in Him. There is no one who can save a person’s soul other than Jesus and what He did for us all and the price He paid and the magnitude of what He saved us from equates to there being no greater love.

He who believes in the Son has everlasting life; and he who does not believe the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God abides on him.”
John 3:36

True followers in Christ who are sealed with the Holy Spirit have already undergone judgment when they gave their lives to Jesus Christ because they became one in Jesus’ body with Christ as the head and therefore will not be present for the 7-year Tribulation which is God’s judgment on the unrepentant and unbelievers. This time period is known as God’s wrath in judgment via the 7 seals which increase in severity upon each seal opened.

The first seal is opened when the bride of Christ is removed and the Anti-Christ or man of lawlessness is revealed (Daniel 12:11). The rider of the white horse of the four horsemen of the apocalypse is the Anti-Christ (Revelation 6:2) and this first seal of judgment is opened by the only one worthy to open the seven seals, Jesus Christ.
