Anonymous Coward (OP) User ID: 83621010 United States 01/26/2023 11:41 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | The question is do people not know they smell horribly? I meant I tried to tell her the employees were complaining that she made them take the phone all the way to the restroom in the common area. When I mentioned that they should be able to use the restroom phoneless she lost her cool. So the idea of mentioning odor to her is kind of puzzling and I was wondering if anyone else ever had a coworker who smelled bad and how they approached them. |

The clothespin idea was funny but I’m not sure how long I could tolerate that and that would really hurt her feelings. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 83621010 Well you could always make up some fake reason for it, perhaps she might attend to her hygeine without blaming you. Just say the new cleaning fluid makes you naseous. |

Tell her you need to speak with in private. Then as gently as possible bring it up. Do not discuss with other co-workers. If you cant do it then it's an H.R. issue. For me, that would be more embarrassing than having a co-worker tell me in private. |

Today it was so bad I still had the smell in my nose an hour after I got home. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 83621010 She had some trauma recently. I know the patients have to notice it. She is extraordinarily sensitive to criticism. I told her employees should not have to bring the phone in the bathroom and she blew up. I’m very calm and the rest of the staff tries to appease her. What do people do when a co worker really smells bad , I just drive the bus buddy I can’t control who gets on and off some stink some don’t |

What do people do when a co worker really smells bad Tell them and file a complaint. Do it in person and given them a note. Be kind and decent like you would want it made known but do it in confidence. Tell HR that you cannot work under those conditions and if they do nothing file a complaint with OSHA. Before work bring in a little package with LUME body deodorant. Tell her to make use of it. Wash her body and clothes daily. It is a medical office and her personal hygiene is not on par with providing medical service what -so-ever. She needs psychiatric help because you are generally depressed when you stop taking care of yourself. |

Trimethylamine has been described as smelling like rotten or decaying fish. As this compound builds up in the body, it causes affected people to give off a strong fishy odor in their sweat, urine, and breath" Last Edited by JustmeTX on 01/27/2023 10:29 AM Justme |

Tell her to wash herself and wash her clothing. I mean, can employees report such a disruption to anybody for any relief and not get fired? I've worked in such a situation and got fired for mentioning it. It was a volunteer job, a show in Seattle, rehearsing in a small room night after night with this smelly, smelly woman, the director. Everybody was appalled by it, but actors will put up with a lot to get on the boards. She smelled like armpit. Wash clothing, apply ACV & baking soda. It's so simple. She's probably stress-sweating because she's a doctor in a time where doctors are being sued, hated, and doubted overall. Last Edited by TXGLP2 on 01/27/2023 10:40 AM |
