What is the oldest memory you have? . . .How far back can you remember?

Playing with matches and setting a chair on fire, back then the seats of chairs were stuffed with straw. I was 4, Im 60+ now.

I remember when I was 2 years old several times in a crib. I am 52 yrs old now.

I was 3…us trailer park kids used to hang out in a rock quarry - I have vivid memories of walking over the rocks and being scared of the snakes

It was 4th of July and I had 2 things:: #1: those weird charcoal dots that you light and they puff out and “snake around” on the ground

And

#2: A chocolate chip cookie

I had something round and brown in my hand…like any 3 year old I popped it in my mouth thinking it was a chocolate chip and chewed it up…it …wasn’t. Never ate another charcoal snake firecracker ever again

You had a front row seat. Years later, about 1969, I was in the old wooden Navy barracks in Pearl Harbor as they filmed tora tora tora and it was a sunday morning that they woke me up with all the planes flying overhead. I can somewhat sympathize. I went to the window to look out, and it took a few seconds to comprehend. It was about the same year that I watched the moon landing on the color tv in the Day Room at the same barracks.

I remember being in pre k and I saw a baby get changed lol. Random.

I can remember the dash board on my fathers 1954 chevy pickup truck and I was born in 1951. My earliest memories are of playing in the sand on sandbars on the Ohio River. My mother told me, I was three days old the first time I went to the river.

Being born.

50 this year.

I recall being a newborn.

Sooo many mementoes of being 3…it was when I had what must have been an OBE…but this isn’t about that

I remember I was at church PreK - I was 3…

We all went out to the playground like we did every day. Only this time I left my “bappy” in the classroom. I was addicted to this wonderful chenille security blanket - didn’t go anywhere without it..slept with it in to high school (still have it in the attic)

I went back to get it and the pastor big whig’s older teenage son answered the door and said I could have it if I pulled my pants down first.

Funny the memory ends then and pops back up with me being in my mom’s VW bug when she picked me up and told her about it. Nothing in between.

Did good old mom drop me right back off there the next day, no questions asked???? You guys take a wild guess!! The 70s were different - thanks Mom!

between 1 yr and 16 months

I guess 1.5 years to 2 ish, I was in my crib at an old vacation beach house and I remember seeing one of those 50's Electrolux canister vacuums on the floor and the hose sticking out the end and curled like a snake scared me. looked like a Monster to a 2 year old.

Beat you at four :)

Womb, before birth.....

2 years old. I saw a cow piss 5 yards out it,s ass.

My earliest memory was biting the vinyl pea green headrest of a station wagon to leave my teeth marks.

A bright light, then some dude in a white coat beat my ass

So many from 3…

Running with a bent piece of metal bike part in my mouth…landed on my face…still have a lump in my upper palat3 at 50!! but it’s always given my tongue something to play with!!! (Spare the crude jokes geezers!!!)

Along with the deep crevice in the middle of the bump from when the sicko orthodontist implanted a device and BROKE my palate in half …you know…to make more room! He probably got a hard on doing it. Once I stuck a pin in it to test the depth…almost touch my brain noggin!

Then each day good old mom got to insert a key and give it a half turn craaaaanking that thing open wider each day! Fun times!

Did you get a switch Fly boy ? Lol My little sister was playing with matches in the closet and burned the entire house down.

Two memories as a baby (crawling). It was a split second snapshot in time that I recall for each memory.

Running out of my bedroom at night at 3 hrs old to my moms room across the trailer…guess I had something to tell her

I see my mom’s “ boyfriend” laying naked on top of her…naked…ummmm Dad???? Where’s dad? Decided to run back to my room - I’m 50 this month and have never mentioned that day to my mom. AWKWARD!

Stahhhhpp….I was 3 YEARS old…not 3 hrs!

I had a very vivid dream knew night and I kinda recognized the house, I described to my mother in detail this odd dream and she was shocked. She said I was 2 years old and I described the house to a T even the toys I passed when I told her what I saw when I was walking in there.

I have a memory in which I was 4 years old.

A man was carrying me (towards my house) after his car's sideview mirror hit my head. My older sister (by 1 year) was yelling at him to "leave my brother alone" and trying to pull me out of his arms. LoL

When I got older I was told; it was a neighbor's car pulling out in reverse out of his driveway. We were kids playing and I ran into his mirror. Just as he began to move I was running
in his direction and his sideview mirror hit my forehead

Anyway, my upper forehead still has 1 inch scar. That was from more than 40 years ago!

I sure did. After my Grandmother and Mother did the bucket brigade from the kitchen to the living room.

This thread has made me remember what a sicko childhood I lived through - and I feel like I turned out actually

i have a memory of being in a crib with my sister who is 18 months older than me. i kept this memory clear in my mind for 58 years

I have memories of old memories, but no longer the original memory.

When I was 8-10 I would remember being in our first home, getting a bath in the sink. Then as I grew up, I would remember myself remembering that event. So it's been chained together

oldest memory that I can directly remember is when I was 5 years old and a traumatic event happened

I once told my mother of a weird very real recurring dream I had been having all my life and can vividly recall. In my "dream" I was laying somewhere and I could see plastic walls up around me. I could see people in white and I kept feeling them stabbing my legs with something. My moms mouth dropped open and she told me "honey, that's not a dream. You're remembering from when you were about 6 months old and near death and they were trying to find a place to get the IV in!"
I'm not sure if she was right, but the first actual memory I have is about 2 yrs old riding my tricycle and pretending the shadow of our carport was a parking space Lol
