Great work!!

Looks like her, you are getting closer.

Maybe the finished product will resemble her more.

Bravo!!

I've already said it before, the model was designed to look more like one of Bouguereau's model types.

It's not supposed to look like the Mona Lisa outside of the general composition and arrangement.

Reading the comments now...It does look like you edited an image of Mona Lisa and digitally enhanced her facial features with slight variations of size. And traced it onto your 12*12 canvas. Looks more digital, a modern digital version of Mona.

It's an underpainting so I'm not worried.

That's the whole point of the exercise.

you still fucked it up, you will see in your finished painting.

Here's an update on the progress of the underpainting.

Now that it's all in, I'm going to do another pass or two of refinements before moving on to color.

Yeah the nose is fucked, I'm actually working on that right now... seems to be the main critique... and rightfully so.

I love and admire your work, BFD, but you’re ASKING, so here goes:

The eyes are way off. They don’t match.

Notice the way the right eye has an almond shape that comes to a point close to the nose. Whereas, the inside of the left eye is more rounded and doesn’t have the same almond shape as the right eye.

Also:

Look closely at the outer eyelid of the left eye. It clearly extends past the white of the eye. Whereas, the outer lid of the right eye ends sharply at the end of the white.

Just need to clean those up a little, and the eyes will match.

Nonetheless, outstanding work as always.

It's about 3 days in, I'll probably screw with it for another few days to tighten it up before painting the color layers.

That is, as long as everything works out going forward.

Either way it was fun practice.

This is how it works big baby. There is constructive criticism. Sometimes as an artist, you stare so long at a image, that your perception could be off. He needs advice.

Nose mimicked an MMA fighter that just lost a fight but more importantly her opponent a swollen nose.

That is what happened to Opies painting, but you know what, He FIXED IT.

GOOD job opie, now fix her crooked ass smile.

The nice thing about eyes, though... is they are little forms that can be repainted in sections... unlike a big, continuous form like a cheek.

It's much less surface area with convenient start and stop points for repainting.
