People have been asking what the heck is attached to the balloon.

The biggest part are a set of solar panels which would supply power to the instrument package. My guess is that there is many sensors hanging from the balloon, including Synthetic Aperture Radar, hyperspectral infrared and a super high resolution visible sensor.

I doubt that the sensors are highly classified because they could be examined if they ever shoot it down. The high res visible sensor could be an array of normal HD camera focal planes. All the sensors would be the very latest in consumer technology.
