Eartquake savant Dutchsinse on YouTube called it. Derailment was caused by tracks bending because of ground movement ahead of the 4.0 eq north of the derailment site that hit right after.

Did a bit more digging to see how much phosgene is produced.

I don't think very much is produced.

The main reaction will make CO, CO2, and HCL.
Anything else will be a result of very poor combustion and random kinetics probabilities.




This article is on tests done burning the polymer form (PVC).

Very little if any phosgene was detected.

The rats they forced it on died from the HCL acid.

"The presence of phosgene among the combustion products of PVC has been
investigated because of its well known toxic properties. Woolley [21] was
unable to confirm the presence of the compound among the thermal decomposition
products of PVC in air. Brown and Birky [24] made a careful search for
phosgene using a variety of decomposition conditions. Under most conditions,
only trace amounts (0.01 to 0.16 mg/g) of phosgene were detected, however,
greater quantities (up to 1 .6 mg/g) were formed when decomposition occurred as
a result of electrical arcing.
Burning PVC can produce large amounts of particulate matter. The actual
amount will depend on the conditions of combustion, particularly the oxygen
supply, and the presence of other fuels. HCl may be adsorbed on the particulates and be transported in that manner [25]. HCl may also be condensed by
moist air to form a corrosive hydrochloric acid mist. This mist and smoke can
obscure vision, thus interfering with escape and rescue. The pulmonary damage
from PVC smoke inhalation has been shown to be more severe than that from
HCl alone probably because the particulates may be drawn into and deposited in
the lungs where the adsorbed or dissolved HCl enhances the toxic effect"


Again, this is for burning solid plastic PVC polymer, not the liquid monomer, so take it with a grain of salt.

7 . CONCLUSIONS (Pg 25)
When strongly heated or exposed to a fire environment, PVC-containing
materials decompose at relatively low temperatures to give a nearly quantitative yield of HCl, in addition to CO and a wide variety of minor organic
products. At higher temperatures, the concentrations of C02 and its potentiating effect on CO should also be considered when assessing the toxicity of
the combustion products.
HCl appears to be the major toxicant which is responsible for the deaths
that occur following acute inhalation exposures to PVC decomposition products.
HCl, is both a sensory irritant and a pulmonary irritant. In the latter role,
it can cause delayed respiratory difficulties, permanent injury, or death. In
one case, however, a laboratory formulation containing the additive zinc
ferrocyanide produced significant quantities of HCl that were probably the
cause of the animal deaths that occurred from 10 min exposures."

Fish are already dying in the creeks. It’s been reported on Pittsburgh news cbs. Also google maps will not let you get driving directions to east Palestine Ohio people have to use Apple Maps instead. Magnesium plant fire in Euclid Ohio they said no runoff expected.

That is interesting about Google! I've always thought that they would get people so trained by it that they couldn't navigate without it. They're showing their ability to selectively remove it. They could do that with specific people while allowing others access too.

I buy paper maps for scenarios like this…

I use google maps on my phone all the time.

It has real time traffic and accident info on it. If you have the default setting it will give you the quickest route that it calculates and it will also not recommend a road that has been fully closed by authorities.

What about pastures full of cattle and horses. Are there dairy farms in that area? What could be outside in danger of all the poisoning in the air and rain. Cattle feed? Human food crops? What kind of farming goes on there?
What ever it is, I think we have huge losses once again in just everything you can imagine. People, food supplies, animals .... and for how long will the land be in this horrible state?
There was one car of the Vinyl Chloride leaking (so the report said that I read) and the other cars were not leaking. Several other chem cars were and some had emptied. No one tried to transfer any material to secure containers. They just blew it all!
