When the train crashes, the public has a right to know what is on the train. Not just to stay home and try not to breathe.

Informing the public requires a bit more than a reporter standing in front of a fire truck saying. "You can see the lights flashing. You can hear the sirens blaring. ".

They need to provide information critical to making informed decisions about whether or not to evacuate.

This train is a mixed freight that could have a mix match of chemicals and railcar combinations so the chemical combinations can be endless as well. Will take time to know them all.

mandatory evacuation was lifted several hours ago fire is under control (no longer spreading to more coal), Most trains are full of coal or coke here I live here when coal burns in massive amounts it's near impossible to extinguish and pulls all oxygen from the air , fire hydrants were frozen water had to be brought in hence 40 plus fire departments.

Awesome. America's infrastructure is falling apart and every spare penny gets sent to Ukraine and the MIC.

Meanwhile we have trains derailing on screwed up train tracks, and can't even keep fire hydrants online in an emergency.

What I'm saying is everybody knows what's going on and what's on it, they don't know what the unique combination of chemicals can cause because it's up to 100 plus rail cars, impossible for even a chemist to determine what the Frankenstein mixture of all these railcars created right now.

Apparently, everyone doesn't know what is on the train. Nobody has confirmed whether or not there were 90 ton liquid Chlorine rail cars in the train accident or not.

The people living downwind of the event for example.

All they know is Velveeta told them there were some flashing lights and sirens.

Don't want to scare people with actual life and death risk info. When did we become a secret society?

They’re just chipping away at stuff aren’t they. The food manufacturing plant fires, the chicken culling ( which my spouse read that the protein in eggs are beneficial for Covid patients), the fuel industry, food shortages,etc.

Yes, it is the main line through my town and very close to the gas station which is scary. The train luckily caught fire a little further down the road but there was another gas station nearby, but I think it was okay. The firefighters did a fantastic job of containing this considering how large it was. We had over 50 departments from neighboring cities show up including crews from Pittsburgh. Hazmat crew was here and EPA measuring air quality. We are in the side of town that did not have to evacuate but we woke up in the middle the night to the smell of metallic or chemical. A little concerning. It was down around 5 degrees F last night not including windchill.

actually, only seen as "problems" are, oil and meat industry- killing of the animals...
