I remember once, years back, being at the local Sheriff's office and there were 3 shopping carts completely filled with riffles- muzzle down, stocks sticking-up in the air. There were some 'exotic' looking units there too- I remember thinking "must be in excess of 100k in firearms here"

I asked the deputy wtf and he said some old dude had died, there was no will and the daughter didn't want them and they were trying to figure-out what to do with them.

It's like, hey lady, ever hear of gunshows or whatever? Just handed over 10's of thousands to be shit-canned

Reason behind this: He claimed the guns were defective, they werent defective, he needed money desperately, the guns were insured. He "disposed" of the guns and put in an insurance claim. But he got caught immediately in a string operation it looks like so it sucks to be him.

According to the article , Gun store owner had contacted the ATF to ask how to dispose of rifles and shotguns .

He was told to "slice " them in at least 3 places

But why would anyone do this?
