Quoting: Anonymous Coward 85150561 The US has had satellites that could do this since the 70s. Also, a balloon which has no real means of steering itself with any efficacy at those altitudes is a terrible weapons delivery system. The winds are insanely strong at those altitudes, and you don't send a weapon to an adversary hoping that nature will float it there. It is more believable that it was a research balloon that was blown off course. That's what I've been saying. No one listens. |

They probably also believe Daffy Duck is hiding at Cheyenne Mt with Elmer Fudd creeping around Are 51....if you know what I mean!! . |

The Russians did a mock missile launch just short of a few hundred nautical miles of where the balloon was downed just about a week ago in the Western Atlantic off the coast of South and North Carolina. The first of its kind since the Cold War. None of the mainstream media covered it except for CNBC that I saw. Of course, the military is mum about it. No one is making the connection. It is very simple. |

If you consider the solar array....the center object was much smaller. From the pics, they were cheap aliexpress style flexible panels all tied together with cord. LOL this is GLP. If TPTB says it's a weather balloon, it ain't. If they say it isn't a weather balloon, chances are it absolutely is. |

China doesn't need a weather balloon to spy on the US. They already have 1m sleeper agents embedded in every university and corporation. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 85153478 02/05/2023 01:46 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | China didn’t assume they knew how the US would react to a trial balloon floating over America They found out US wouldn’t do anything until a Montana media outlet made it a news story. After that they learned nothing would happen until it was about to leave US airspace. Quite successful intelligence gathering whether planned or even accidental(hard to believe). Certainly worth the cost of the balloon to expose the incompetent US reaction. US looked really bad and unsure the entire time. |
