Do you have 20/20 vision?

The reason, why I am asking that some association says it is the *average*, and I doubt it.

You realize, of course, you are polling a bunch of whackos? We may not be entirely representative of the entire population.

I had 40-20 but now have trouble reading fine print.

Of course. But as I have no way to do that, this will suffice for our purpose.

Put off wearing glasses as long as possible. They will ruin your eyesight quickly.

Yup, glasses progressively deteriorate your eye strength.

I've been told I have "very poor" vision lol. It's been that way my whole life. I've adapted.

At this point, by the poll, many people have poor vision. Interesting.

most people who have 20/20 vision need glasses by the time they are in their forties ... and I am guessing that most GLPers are 40+ - so you are not going to get an accurate poll

I had cataract removal, both eyes, 6 years ago. Went from near blind to perfect vision almost immediately.

I have 20/20 vision with my glasses, including the transitioning bifocal...

But looking back it’s still a bit fuzzy?

I was 30/20 about 10 years ago.

Now I'm 20/20.

The first number is the clear vision standard of 20', and the second number is where you are compared to it. So if you have 20/30 vision, what you see clearly at 20', the person with normal vision sees at 30'

All I know is that when they make you read the last line 20/20 , I was able to read the one below that which is labeled 30/20.

Without my glasses I'm 20/40 nearsighted, my Dad was 20/10 farsighted his whole life...

Was awful, like 20/400 or something. Got Lasik, down to 20/10 for awhile. Now, 10+ years later...20/20 (and poor night driving vision & dry eyes, but no glasses & no 20/400)

20/200 is legally blind.

I don't know. The last time I had my eyesight tested was around 20 years ago.

You're asking this on a forum where people think internet IQ tests are real.

I have better... especially in my left eye.

20/20 is far from average according to the results.

We write 1,000 just like that in Canada. As far as I know that’s how they do it in America. What are you on about ?

went in last year and got some new frames on medicade at walmart. Hadn't had eyes checked probably since 2009, my rayban prescription glasses were on last leg, could barely see well out of them.

i'm nearsighted. can see pretty good up close, but can't see diddly squat far away

tested with all the technical jargon on sheet, i asked what about the old school 20/20 thing. he said ok that scale....

he looked at it, said you are 20/220

legally blind...and i have astigmatism ( had that whole life)

otherwise said my eyes were healthy, no cataracts, etc

not homeless again. Working, sober...going in in a month to get a recheck and buy some ACTUAL DECENT FRAMES now that i can afford it.

ill be 42 in a month, and notice even up close its starting to get a bit worse. I can't do bifocals tho, i tried those years ago and hated it

my dads eyes were even worse, like 20/300...he did the whole lasik thing early in in the early 2000s and kind of regreted it. his night vision was terrible and dry eyes for years

ill stick with glasses

I can see right through Obama’s Third Term & the destruction it’s meant to cause. Not sure how that works out on a vision test.

The more a person compulsively thinks, the worse their vision is. Most start going bad by 12 and are blind to the world by 20 with extreme prejudice.

Vision is always compared to 20', so the first 20 is the standard, it never changes. Whether you are 20/10 farsighted or 20/30 nearsighted...
