Our oil bill is $750 on a 10-month payment plan. Our electricity was about $300 last month. NH here.

It also gets more of the worker slaves off benefits and forces them back into the debt-slave rat race.

I wonder if that great "JOBS" report had to do with runaway inflation, ridiculous interest rates and high energy costs.
Leaving even seniors and the disabled with no choice but to re-enter the workforce.

Guess I shouldn't complain, mine was $149 for 130 therms used on last month's bill. When I'm home I keep the house at 71 and dial it back to 66 while at work. Would've been higher but I just installed a 2 stage, variable speed 96% furnace. I actually noticed more cost savings on the electric bill than the gas, those new ecm blowers are so much more efficient.

I guess the utility companies can't gouge as much in Illinois when many are paying nearly $1000 a month to property taxes alone.

but yeah throughout most of the US in all states, bills have doubled depending on the energy company..

The black family 4 doors down from me are paying more than me, and I pay over $1K month between oil and electricity in a very white country town. Their house is around 6,000 sf. Hardest workers I know. They are from Jamaica.

I live in Socal too and temps drop below 40 where I'm at. That's cold enough to run the heater, tard.

I purposely did not use hardly any gas during the month that the price went so high. Now they're saying that it's going down by like 80% for this month. Plus we're getting a little kickback bonus. My only item that uses gas is the hot water heater, so I just started washing the dishes with cold water.I also used candles for heat. It does work well, you just have to maintain it. Especially if you make the heaters that use the terracotta pots. Also safer that way. Been collecting candles for years. I wait until they go on clearance after the holidays and things. It's better just to choose one room to stay in and use a heat dish or other type of electrical heater, then pay those rates.

How is it a right? It isn't. It's a service.

It's just part of the political game to get ppl to panic & switch to electric, it will go back down. If you have PG&E, Go on the gas companies website they have a financial help section & few options like a payment plan for a high bill or a 1 time no-pay because can't afford.

Don't take the burden, push it back on the Gas Company. This is war.
