Watch the video. The Stop The Bleed program is about training teachers and others to provide help to victims at shootings. Since paramedics can't come in until the cops secure the scene, they want others to have training so they can help stop the bleeding.

That's pretty much what I said. After Sandy Hook, they wanted a way to help the victims when the paramedics weren't able to get to them.

Some still don't understand about how shooting scenes are handled. Cops go in first and they secure the area, then paramedics are let in. I wonder if Halbig was taught that in his two years as a cop? Maybe he forgot.

You make the 100% correct point that the problem at Sandy Hook was that someone didn't get to the patients in time.

The children had survivable wounds. They died because no one stopped their bleeding.

I woke up three years ago at 4:45 a.m. to find four men in my house. They never laid a hand on me (they were looking for car keys) and it took me a good two years to stop breaking into a sweat at small sounds.

Why sounds, I don't know, but PTSD is real. I was pretty surprised at it's significance and longevity.

I can't imagine what it would be like to suffer a deeper fear or even injury.
